Bio

Gate 29 is an exciting and new Christian rock band from Birmingham, Al. that came together in December of 2007 as a three-piece cover band. The band was originally formed to provide entertainment at bars and fraternity parties, but the members quickly realized that they were called to glorify God with their musical talents. The first three members of the band were Micah McDaniel, Brandon Watson, and Drew Moore. Shortly after the trio converted to a Christian band Aaron McDaniel was added as the bassist. He was the fourth and final member of the band.

In 2008 the four members of Gate 29 began writing original music and performing live. The band started out their career with a February performance in Huntsville, Al. The band followed up that gig with nineteen more performances across Alabama. The performances ranged from Sheffield to Dothan and Tuscaloosa to Collinsville with an average of 150 in attendance at each location. The band ended their 2008 season back in Birmingham in October.

In November the band went into the studio and recorded their three song demo, Save Me from Myself, which is now available on iTunes. The band has written ten songs, and they have gained quite a unique voice. Gate 29 has often been described as southern, hard rock because of their scorching guitar riffs and Velvet Revolver-like lead. When their hard-hitting drum licks, tight performance, and excellent showmanship are added to the equation you can be sure of an exciting and head-banging performance that will leave the audience screaming for an encore. The lead vocalist for the band sounds similar to Sully Erna of Godsmack, and he possesses a great ability to captivate the crowd and draw them into the music.

Above all, the members of Gate 29 conduct themselves in a professional manner and display great respect for the property of all venues and events that book them. They have been growing rapidly since the release of their demo, and they are expecting to go far in the music industry. They are their own critics, and they use this to make every performance better than the previous. They accept only the highest quality work from themselves, and they will settle for nothing but their best. They use all of the above to further the Kingdom of God and provide clean, fulfilling entertainment to a broad audience.
