Anything But Blue

This old apartment on the fifth floor of dreams
Has very thin walls and cracks on the ceiling
Dusty cobweb just out of reach
And every night I read myself to sleep
Footsteps echo on the streets down below the
Continuous ring of an unanswered phone
Some people say this is living hell
But I cook good food and I’m doing well
|Am|Fsus|Am|Fsus|Am|Fsus|C|C|
And I’m anything, anything, I’m anything, but blue

Portrait of Picasso hangs on the wall
There’s fresh cut flowers from the Gardner down the hall
Blue velvet curtains cover sun beaten lace
The glow from this candle brightens up the place
There’s magic that lingers like stars in the sky
I feel inspired and I don’t care why
My paint brush dances across canvas again
My imagination slowly ascends
And I’m anything, anything; I’m anything, but blue |G|Dm|Am|G|G|

The music rides on the midnight wind
Through my open window it’s drifting in
My soul wants to sing and my feet wanna dance
I look down to the street and it’s full of romance
And the couples kiss and the street lights shine
I take a deep breath and I’m feeling fine
I can’t forget how things always work out
You come in this world alone like you do going out
And I’m anything, anything, I’m anything, but blue

You Turn Me On (Tonight)

I’m not one to reveal myself, how I feel inside
I don’t have romantic dreams about love at first sight
I was never one to fall too fast, till you walked in my life
I can’t take my eyes off you, you turn me on tonight

You turn me on tonight,
light me up,
throw my switch,
blow my fuse,
you turn me on

I thought that I was in control, with both feet on the ground
I can’t tear myself away, from this love I’ve found
Now the sparks are flying, I’m about to overload
It’s dangerous to feel this good
I thought that you should know

You turn me on tonight,
light me up,
throw my switch
Darling that’s what you do
This thing that’s coming over me
Is coming on real strong
I can’t get enough of you, darling
You turn me on

Well mercy me, bless my soul, my world is inside out
I wanna lose myself, wanna wrap my arms around

You turn me on tonight,
light me up,
throw my switch
Darling that’s what you do
This thing that’s coming over me
Is coming on real strong
I can’t get enough of you, darling

You turn me on tonight ,
light me up,
throw my switch,
blow my fuse.
You turn me on

Saturday Night on Bourbon Street

Written By: Gayle Ackroyd, Janis Powers

Saturday Night On Bourbon Street
Gayle Ackroyd and Janice Powers
@1995 (Peer Music Publishing)

Way down south in Louisiana
In the heart of the city on the Mississippi bend
There’s a street where I like to go
To here the blues and the Zydeco
There’s little boys moving like marionettes
Tapping their toes to the clarinet
They’ll dance for money and a cigarette
It’s a party of life one night of the week
Twisting in a city that never sleeps or
It’s Saturday night on Bourbon Street
Hey, Hey, Whoa, Whoa
It’s Saturday Night on Bourbon Street

The lights are bright and the music’s loud
The drinks ain’t cheap and the girls ain’t proud
You let it go and you don’t hold back
Hey where d’ you learn to dance like that
There’s a man with a dog and a saxophone
He needs money, the dog needs a bone
They draw a crowd by the corner stone
Every bodies shaking and moving their feet
Clapping their hands and keeping the beat
It’s Saturday night on Bourbon Street
Hey, Hey, Whoa, Whoa
It’s Saturday night on Bourbon Street

When I go home on the morning train
My heart will never beat the same
I’ve heard the rhythm of New Orleans
Mississippi mud stirring up my dreams
Dancing’ girls and the Dixie bands
Hurricanes and the T-shirt stands
Voodoo Queen and her feathered friends
It’s a party of life one night of the week
Twisting in a city that never sleeps or (You get so high that you can’t sleep)
It’s Saturday night on Bourbon Street
Hey, Hey, Whoa, Whoa
It’s Saturday Night on Bourbon Street
Hey, Hey, Whoa, Whoa
It’s Saturday Night on Bourbon Street
It’s Saturday night on Bourbon Street
