Child of Mine

Written By: Gayle Walters

Child of Mine

You’re a child of mine
Though we’ve barely met
If you let me tend to your heart
They’ll be no regret

You’re a child of mine
Trying to make your way
Lost in the confusion of
the day-to-day

CHORUS: Don’t let those voices in your head keep telling you
There’s something wrong with you dear
There’s nothing wrong with you dear

Accusations of mistakes you never need to fear
There’s nothing wrong with you dear
There’s nothing wrong with you dear

You’re a child of mine
Don’t restrain the tears
I too know how it feels
When nobody hears

You’re a child of mine
Let your anger go
Grasp a grateful heart
And let your passion show

CHORUS: Don’t let those voices in your head keep telling you
There’s something wrong with you dear
There’s nothing wrong with you dear

Accusations of mistakes you never need to fear
There’s nothing wrong with you dear
There’s nothing wrong with you dear

You’re a child of mine
Though we’ve barely
If you let me tend to your heart
There’ll be no regret

PIcked Up My Guitar

Written By: Gayle Walters

PICKED UP MY GUITAR

1. Picked up my guitar - going to learn how to play
My friends all tell me there’s got to be a better way
To extend my curiosity and open my mind
Well I’ll drive ‘em all crazy – hoping to find out that I can play
You see I want to play
I’ve got to play the guitar

2. Takes a little bit of rhythm – it’s not hard to find a tune
I only wish my fingers had a bit more room
There’s more strings than I need
I could do with a few less notes
And I’m driving myself crazy trying to find the anecdote
So that I can play - Oh yes I want to play
I’ve got to play the guitar

BRIDGE: I want to be a rock and roll star
I want to sing – I want to play a mean guitar
What’s a mean guitar?
Please tell me what’s a mean guitar?

CHORUS: (done with classical piano – sonatina like)
Frets and bars and strings and things – why not play the drums?
I like to strum along with melodies - all these chords confusing me
I’ll never pick I never stick with anything that’s difficult

Then there’s the beat……then there’s the beat

3. Parent’s spent a lot of money trying to help me learn the keys
Turned out that old piano was just another breeze
For looking into my soul – it opened my eyes
Now I drive them all crazy as I seek out this prize
You see I want to play - oh yes I have to play
I‘ve got to play the guitar

BRIDGE: I want to be a rock and roll star
I want to sing – I want to play a mean guitar
What’s a mean guitar?
Please tell me what’s a mean guitar?

CHORUS: Frets and bars and strings and things – why not play the drums?
I’d like to strum along with melodies - all these chords confusing me
I’ll never pick I never stick with anything that’s difficult
Then there’s the beat – then there’s the beat

Stuck in my Head

Written By: Gayle Walters

Stuck in my head.

1. Whispers were shared and important things said
And even explained – yea they stuck in my head
And though I can try - I can’t change how I feel
I won’t hide, lie or conjure up a fool’s way to steal…

CHORUS: Into a man’s heart
Into his soul
or take a love with me
Where ever I go

I know I can’t lie but
Maybe I’ll hide
So that you’re not afraid
As a friend by my side.

2. A picture came through and it spoke to my heart
So selfish, consumed I’m unable to part
With a life become strange and continues to beat
down my spirit and energy that just wants to steal…..

CHORUS: Into a man’s heart
Into his soul
or take a love with me
Where ever I go

I know I can’t lie
But maybe I’ll hide
So that you’re not afraid
as a friend by my side.

3. You’ve stolen my thoughts and you’ve changed how I feel
World spinning out of control – fearful and pale
I look straight ahead I ignore what’s behind
On a search for a love that will never be blind

CHORUS: Into a man’s heart
Into his soul
or take a love with me
Where ever I go

I know I can’t lie but
But maybe I’ll hide
So that you’re not afraid
as a friend by my side.
