I grew up in the small north Louisiana town of Ruston, Louisiana, home of LA Tech University. When classes are in session, the population of Ruston almost doubles,literally. It's a small town atmosphere where hunting and fishing are major sports, but we all love the regular sports like football, basketball, and baseball too. I loved the hunting and fishing with my family and friends growing up.

I learned to play the guitar with my Dad, and the piano from Mom. She plays keyboard in the church band. They've always been very involved with music, and encouraged us kids to learn. Most of my songs talk about girls, and dealing with the things that happen in relationships. Things like love and pain, happiness, and that's had a big influence on my song-writing style.

The acoustic folk and rock tunes set the pace for my music, but I've always liked the alternative rock music of bands like Breaking Benjamin, Nickelback, Red, Chevelle, Alter Bridge, Fuel,Theory Of A Deadman, and many, many more. Plus there are tons of country singers I admire. They always talked about life in the wilderness, and being a real man, so that made a difference in how I look at life and relationships.

I jokingly say that I couldn't be tied down by one music genre, so I went ahead and invented my own. I call it New-age southern-acoustic folk pop-rock. And that pretty well describes the sound. I knew when I was young that I wanted to be a performer, but my parents made me stay involved in school, which I didn't really like. I'd rather be hunting, fishing, or riding 4-wheelers with my buddies. Or writing song and playing my music.
