Bio
Making music with computers; the old-fashioned way.
Gearloose is the solo musical endeavor of Christchurch son, Steven King. Blending time tested pop mentalities, folkish harmonies, nostalgia, fun-times, guitars, ukulele, and synthesizers and sealing it all with a kiss from the Pacific.
In July 2008, Gearloose burst onto the scene with a self-penned, produced, and performed eponymous debut and a flurry of live performances, garnering plenty of attention both locally and abroad. Including performances at festivals such as Camp A Low Hum and Chartfest ’09.
The “Gearloose” album was followed in October 2009 by “The Tenth March EP”, an ambitious short concept record telling the story of first love and subsequently love lost. The EP has been flaunted across the internet including music on the Global Thunda Network in Australia and the track “Sunsets For Singles” featured in the popular NZBeats pod cast.
And as time continues to unravel before us all, so too shall Gearloose continue on, doing his best to entertain, and to write songs to make you go "hmmmmm".
