Listening to Ged Roman for the first time is like discovering one of the classic singer/songwriters of the 70's. This Venezuelan-born solo artist has a style that is a blend of 70's rock/pop with a folk base and a bit of world sound.

Biography

Ged began his musical journey in Valencia, Venezuela, where his grandfather introduced him to classical music and the music of the 60’s and 70’s. He started to play guitar when he was 13. Three years later he began to play the piano. He has penned dozens of songs in English, and also many songs in Spanish.

Ged is receiving airplay on FM and internet radio in the U.S.A., the U.K., Venezuela and Japan.

The Music: Ged’s unforgettable songs are getting attention. In 1999, Ged turned down a record deal in Colombia and later moved to the U.S. where he built his own studio and continues to write snappy tunes. In 2004, a CD with some of Ged’s tunes made its way to Ronald Cotton (a long-time Manager from Nashville who has worked with superstars Garth Brooks, George Strait and Reba McEntire, among others). Ron was impressed with Ged’s tunes and almost immediately began managing him, but was not able to continue in the business due to health problems.

Locally: Ged has performed many shows playing only his self penned tunes accompanied by himself on guitar or piano, Christopher DeWitt on bass and Francis Trioli on drums/percussions at The Grape Street Pub, The Tin Angel, North by Northwest, The Raven Lounge, Abilene and Pontiac Grille among other places in the Philadelphia area. Ged is also recording/producing artists in his private studio, and has become well-known and sought out for his recording talents.

Lyrics

JANE (The Game We Play)

Written By: Ged Roman

Didn’t I give you all that love you’ve taken away?
Did you not get all my understanding every day?
I guess it wasn’t enough for such a greedy, greedy girl
Oh but Jane please don’t go far from me.

Got so much pain, I wish I knew what to say
And who’s to blame in this game we play.
Again and again it turns out to be the same,
Oh, it’s so lame! This game we play.

Didn’t I forgive you for that time you left with him?
Did I not overlook the fact that you spent all I’d saved?
I guess it’s been too much for such a simple, simple man!
Oh but Jane please don’t walk out on me ‘cause I

Got so much pain, I wish I knew what to say
And who’s to blame in this game we play.
Again and again it turns out to be the same,
Oh, it’s so lame! This game we play.

Didn’t I take you to France, England, Italy and Spain?
Didn’t you get your ring, your house and your Mercedes Benz?
I couldn’t buy your love, I need a simple grown up girl
Oh but Jane will you grow up for me?

Got so much pain, I wish I knew what to say
And who’s to blame in this game we play.
Again and again it turns out to be the same,
Oh, it’s so lame! This game we play.

ALMOST GOODBYE

Written By: Ged Roman

We almost said goodbye
How could we ever be far?
Tell me if you know how to live like that
‘Cause I don’t know.
Tell me if you’re leaving my side
So I’ll get ready to fly
Though I don’t know how to move my wings outside
Anymore
Tell me if we’re letting all these feelings die
‘Cause I’ve been sleeping, weeping in the dark
Knowing no thing, knowing not what is what
And I’ve been really giving all my heart
Is this what we get giving all I can?

It’s so much what I kept inside
My dreams, my love, and all my lies
Dreaming you will come
I’ll give you my life
To be in the world.
I thought that I would never find
The woman that I had in mind
It seemed too good to believe that she’d be true
But she came through
Tell me if I’m losing all I thought I had
‘Cause I have felt so much joy inside
I learnt with you I could have what I want
And I don’t want to think it’s all a lie
That it’s a dream, or that I’m in the sky

I think it’s wise to take more time
I think we can be just fine… fine… fine.

IT'S NOT THE SAME

Written By: Ged Roman

It’s been years since you’ve gone
And I keep holding on to the secrets that we kept.
And my life is all wrong, although I’m not alone
Oh baby it’s not the same. It’s not the same.
Many vices are not enough to get you off my head
Oh baby you’re to blame.
Days and nights are so long ever since you’ve gone
Oh baby it’s not the same. It’s not the same.

It’s not the same when she holds me, when she loves me. No!
Baby it’s not the same
It’s not the same when she moves, when I touch her. No!
I swear it’s not the same.

Heard you finally found love, a chap and a home
Oh, what a great array
Seems that me you forgot, but baby, how come?
I thought you may not… you could not forget me.
But when you looked in my eyes and cried, oh I know you well
I know it’s not the same.

It’s not the same when he holds you, when he loves you. No!
I know it’s not the same.
It’s not the same when she moves me, when she holds me. No!
I swear it’s not the same.
It’s not the same when she loves me, when she pulls me close
Baby it’s not the same.
