Bio

With more energy than Con Edison, Brooklyn rapper Gees Extortion unquestionably amps Hip Hop heads to frenzy with sharp, witty lyrics, and interchangeable flows every time he exhales on the microphone.

Backed by his independent label, Real Radio Records, Gees has quickly emerged on New York’s rap scene, lighting up stages at several prominent venues around the city like Webster Hall, Southpaw and the Bowery Poetry Club for Power 105, HipHopDx’s Get Your Buzz Up, and Overtime Concert.

Thus far the Puerto Rican rhyme-spitter has released several tracks off his upcoming debut street LP, Organized Rhymes, receiving viral support from tastemakers such as XXLMag.com, DJBooth.net, RefinedHype.com, ThatsEnuff.com, KevinNottingham.com, DDotOmen.com and others. StreetLogik.com and HipHopRuckus.com have gone as far as to call Gees an artist the “Streets Are Watching” and an artist “On da Come Up” respectively.

His song “Life Is So Crazy” was produced by !llmind. The producer extraordinaire liked the song so much he gave it a placement on his upcoming compilation Blaps, Rhymes & Life Vol. 6.

Gees’ efforts were recognized at the 2011 Urban Threshold Underground Music Awards where he won for “Most Promising Male Rapper.” His music has also been an immense hit with DJs around the country. The rapper’s freestyle over Eric B. & Rakim’s Juice classic “Know the Ledge” re-titled “Know Your Ledge” has over 50 mixtape placements with assistance from Coast 2 Coast Mixtapes.

“I can only use one word to describe Gees Extortion, Passionate! This dude gets on stage and puts his heart on his sleeve and gives you his blood, sweat and tears every single time. Real Radio Records is a great place for him to build a foundation, their team is one of the most influential in the underground music scene to date,” says influential Hip Hop promoter and Coast 2 Coast executive J Hatch.

Gees' style is a direct reflection of his rough-and-tumble life on the city streets of Brooklyn which includes the loss of his mother as a boy. Born a 80s’ baby, Gees fell in love with rap the minute he heard his mama playing “Jam-On-It” by early Hip Hop duo Newcleuos.

It wasn’t long before the aspiring rap star began penning his first rhymes as a preteen for “shits and giggles.” Motivated by his trials and tribulations Gees is now determined to show and prove he belongs in the same sentence with the greats he grew up listening to like Run DMC, Big Daddy Kane, Slick Rick, Kool G Rap and Gangstarr.

On the way to his mainstream dreams, Gees is sizing up Hip Hop’s landscape, confidently believing that he’s a talent to be reckoned with.
