Bio

Gemstone has made it her business to do her Father’s business. Her craft has led her down the road to secular sensationalism, and just as the lucrative deal was on the table, Gods’ call on her life forced her to walk away. That was 4 years ago. Presently, she is consistently mastering her craft, and hungrier than ever to gain knowledge and wisdom in this life.

Her current solo project, which is self-titled “Gemstone” is laying the foundation for what God is planning to do in her ministry. She has been blessed to minister at many local and nationwide Churches, City events, and youth conferences. Namely, CLC Bookcenter in Miami, FL, Café Express Music Club in Mt. Juliet, TN, Aids Awareness Week, Hart Plaza, Detroit, MI, Detroit World Outreach, Bishop Jack C. Wallace, Sr. Pastor and Perfecting Church, Pastor Marvin Winans, just to name a few. Not to mention the campuses of Eastern Michigan University and the University of Indiana, sharing the stage with such artist as Da Filled and Fiti Futuristic.

Collectively Gemstone and two other artists from Smoke Screen Records are blessed as “F.I.R.E.” an acronym meaning Fire Ignites Radical Evangelist (I Kings 18:24b). They have to their credit a 2000 release titled “The Introduction” and most recently a maxi single that is making a lot of noise with the song "Resurrection". It has been one of the most ask about and requested songs to play Sunday mornings on FM 98 WJLB in Detroit, MI.

Gemstone also had the pleasure of working with Neo-Soul Gospel artist Stan Jones of Love Jones Music, Unity Universe Music artist Brother Stone and Blak, and Lifelinerz on various collaborations.

Since the age of eleven, God had been setting the stage for Gemstones unveiling. Her name is an expression of who God has called her to be, and in Proverbs 20:15, it says, “There is gold, and a multitude of rubies: but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel”. Gemstone is that jewel.

As diverse as she is, she maintains that the main goal of her music is to capture her audience, and open the ears of those who shun the word of God. She hopes that God will pierce that hearts of her listeners, thus leading them into salvation and relationship with Jesus Christ.

In a world that’s seemingly closer to the end, it refreshing to hear words of encouragement, and love. Gemstone adds that her gritty and hard approach is just a style of delivery that reflects her struggles and past pains. “It doesn’t take away from the woman that I am. I here to reach the streets, so my delivery reaches the block in your hood, to the clubs and back to the Tabernacle.” Her passion is evident with each lyric and content spoken, and denotes originality and the individual that God has called her to be. She wants her listeners to know “that there is an answer, and that answer is Jesus. And although times may get rough, and turbulent, you can get through it. We all face trials, and we are not alone in this battle, remember, we are victorious and mighty men and women of God”.

Gemstone is an Active Member of After Christ Christian Center headed by Pastors Rudy & Lois Ellis.
