Hailing from Long Island, New York, artist/songwriter Gene Noble has been crowned the “voice of soul.” Being recognized by music outlets like EARMILK, Okayplayer, Rhapsody and more, Gene provides the tranquility in music that keeps listeners wanting more.

In March 2014, Gene released his debut EP, Rebirth Of Gene, which includes 10-impassioned tracks, all written by Noble himself during the course of his move from New York to Los Angeles sometime ago. Rhapsody also ranked ‘Rebirth of Gene’ a “Top 20 R&B Album for Spring 2014.”

Gene is no stranger to the industry and has graced background vocals for the likes of; Usher, Jay Z and so many more. - SFPL!

"Gene Noble - Aware"

A few facts about Gene Noble: first, Gene looked to music to help him after his father, as a soldier, died saving someone’s life when Gene was just four. It was also D’Angelo‘s Voodoo Tour that inspired him to become an artist. Those two facts don’t have anything to do with his latest song feature, but I just wanted you to be Aware that he is much more than your typical R&B singer. Not that you wouldn’t have been able to discover that by pressing play.

Setting the mood on this unique R&B tune, Lion’s Share cooks up a flanged, synth-driven beat that has a very funky, unique vibe. Most R&B singers would struggle with the quirky production, but it fits Noble perfectly. His feathery, fluttering vocals glide atop the beat and lend some smoothness to the coarse, textured track. Just so you are Aware, The DJBooth will have an exclusive stream of the artist’s new album, Rebirth of Gene, next Monday, one day before the album officially drops on March 4. - DJ Booth

"theGrio’s B-side: R&B singer Gene Noble on why he’s ‘Still Here’"

Inspired from the cassette tapes of the 90’s, theGrio’s B-Side section will be giving emerging artists a platform to share some of their more personal songs with their fanbase.

Brooklyn singer Gene Noble breaks down the inspiration behind his new track “Still Here” and trailer exclusively on TheGrio.

Often we call it loyalty. In other moments it looks more like stupidity but it’s most commonly referred to as love. Love can keep you in a place your mind tells you you shouldn’t be. Frustrated, hurt, angry but still here. When I wrote this song, that’s what I was going through. Being really in love when things weren’t going well. I felt it would drive me insane. I knew in my heart the “love” wouldn’t let me leave… but I wanted things to be better. Each word is coming from a place of vulnerability.

"Vice/Noisey Premieres Gene Noble's "Aware""

The regeneration of Los Angeles vocalist Gene Noble is in the works as he's gearing up to drop his latest EP, The Rebirth of Gene Noble on March 4th. His new single, "Aware," is one of the smoothest R&B cuts out right now. Everything from his lofty vocals to the electro production, fits into his "convergence of both emotional depth and the creative mind" outset perfectly. - Vice/Noisey

"Gene Noble - Lies"

While we have access to more information than has been available at any other point in history, the multitude of competing perspectives and hidden agendas has made truth even harder to come by. Booth newcomer Gene Noble‘s so disoriented by everyone’s Lies that he’s not even sure who he is anymore.

The unsigned singer’s uncertainty as to his identity, however, doesn’t stop him from turning in an impressive vocal performance on his latest single.

Producer Sam Trax‘s tense, rock-informed boardwork backs the artist as he bemoans the lack of realness around him, building up to a wailing a cappella climax. Matt Robertson‘s official visuals underline the record’s political subtext. For more from this promising up-and-comer, check out The Rebirth of Gene when it drops independently. - DJ Booth

"FADER PREMIERE - Gene Noble, “Imagination”"

Gene Noble was born in Kansas, raised in New York, and is now based in LA, and it seems like his well-traveled existence translates into some pretty heartfelt R&B songs. On “Imagination,” he half-remembers a love affair, wondering Were you ever really here? Or is it just my imagination? It’s a tear-jerker, too, as Noble’s sensitive vocals soar over some smoothed-out production. The song is from his debut project, Rebirth of Gene, out next week. - The Fader

"Video Premiere: Gene Noble “Imagination”"

As promised, rising r&b talent, Gene Noble, blesses us with the OKP premiere of his new video, “Imagination.” The song is definitely a favorite of mine, and yeah, I’ll go ahead and say that same for the video (things get a little steamy). The crisp visuals play out a very relatable story of lost love with a sultry companion playing as Gene’s co-star (yeah, if someone has that name, go ahead and pass it along). Video directed by Bast Pictures. Gene’s debut EP, Rebirth of Gene, is out now via iTunes. Stream it in full, below (easily one of the best r&b releases I’ve heard in awhile). - Okayplayer

"Gene Noble’s ‘Rebirth of Gene’ takes listener on journey through pain, love and fantasy"

Singer and songwriter, Gene Noble invites us on a personal, honest and intimate journey through love, pain and fantasy in his new EP, Rebirth of Gene.

Noble’s EP flirts with emotions while ardently being carried by soulful sounds that make for a sensual experience.

Infectious hooks on tracks like, ‘Hide Away’ delve into the complications of dishonesty in relationships, the lust and desire for two women and the power of temptation. Noble continues with this theme until he flips the script on tracks like “Hide Away” and replays a similar situation, but as a victim of deceit and from a different perspective – his own.

“Still Here” gives the listener a delicate, yet raw and candid experience of love and its, sometimes familiar, alliances: the art of forgiving and forgetting coupled with hopes of a brighter future. Noble uses this as a platform for creativity and fuel from start to finish, proving to be a singer that isn’t afraid of expression and a songwriter that is in tune with his emotions.

The EP demonstrates and showcases an impressive vocal range that acts as, and accompanies, the instrumentals that are felt all the way through. Effortlessly moving from one track to the next, we are taken to a more conscious state of mind and transported to an adorning place with tracks like, “Aware” and “Where You Are” that play out like a confession through your speakers. Telling stories of a love addicted Noble, “elusively, you dangled your love like a carrot dipped in drugs,” the track toys with the juxtaposition of “heaven and hell” and “dark and light” which are used as vivid metaphors when it comes to matters of the heart.

Noble has covered a number of well known songs, most recently, Beyonce’s “Rocket”, and, by characterizing the cover and making it his own, it would appear Noble is most prominent when he opens up to matters of the heart. This same idea is shown again with an ideal ending that summarizes and captures the essence of Rebirth of Gene in its entirety.

As we get to the end of the EP, the last track, “Lay You Down” is as smooth, relaxed and as flirtatious as its title. Closing with a track that embodies the same undertones that tie all ten tracks together leave you satisfied as an ending to the listening experience as a whole. Each track tells its own story, giving sincere and compelling accounts of one man and his experiences through love and its lessons.

If this EP were a person, it would be a man that is wearing his heart on his sleeve. - MSNBC's theGrio

"Gene Noble rattles every emotion with his 'Rebirth of Gene'"

Sometimes I wonder if an artist's pain is truly what drives their expressionistic nature, or if they simply have mocked up a story to create a persona that seems detached and emotional in all colors. We've seen artist reach emotional extremes, tragically, and we've heard numerous stories and personal experiences through our favorite musicians. Ironically, sometimes the most emotionally outspoken artists tell the greatest tale, relatable and heart felt in principle.

To refrain from rambling for too long, let me introduce you to Gene Noble. Gene is an unsigned R&B act with a ton of background and even more authentic style. Gene looked to music to help him after his father, as a soldier, died saving someone’s life when Gene was just four. Aside from his personal aspirations as an artist, it was also D’Angelo‘s Voodoo Tour that inspired him to make music. The Rebirth of Gene LP is a collision of emotional pain and artistry in motion. It revisits love lost and love found while reminding us why we'd be better off down to Earth. "Rebirth of Gene is vulnerable, intimate, and superbly tangible and melodic."

Guitarist Dubwize and DJ Booth favorite Emilio Rojas hop on the roster for the Rebirth of Gene, which packs production by JRB (for The Coalition),Lion's Share, Lunchtime Legends, SamTRax (for Forever87), Sonny J. Mason and Wil Baptiste (of Black Violins). With the release of Gene's LP comes visuals for tracks, "Lies" and "Still Here", as well as an exclusive Audiomack stream here. Rebirth of Gene LP can be purchased on iTunes, so if Gene connects with you, show some extra love. - EARMILK

The not so quiet ramblings of an artist on the rise continue to intensify. At the center of the quake is new artist, Gene Noble. Putting it mildly, his vocal ability is relentless, powerful and emotional. Life Music is how Noble describes his music, Its the stuff that expresses the feelings, emotions and words in a way that we want to say but often times cant. Nobles life began in Manhattan, Kansas. As a young army brat, he traveled the world to wherever his father was stationed. At the age of four while living in Germany, his father lost his life saving the life of another man. His fathers name was Gene. The remainder of Nobles childhood was spent in Long Island, New York with his mother and brother. The memories of his father became more and more distant.

Music became Nobles sanctuary. He started playing piano at the age of 5 and wrote poetry before he ever sang. Noble soon gained an early love of jazz, gospel and legendary artist Prince. In school is where his love of rock, pop, and country came into play. His babysitter eventually introduced him to hip hop. After watching R&B artist DAngelo perform on his Voodoo tour, Noble realized that he wanted to be an artist.

Over time Noble began to realize that he knew very little about his father Gene. In 2012, he realized that he had lived longer than his father had. It all hit him when a close friend was killed, leaving a young daughter behind. The loss was devastating. As hed done in the past, Noble returned to his sanctuary, his music the one place he could freely express his emotions and create his new EP, Rebirth of Gene.

Rebirth of Gene includes a song entitled Vices. Noble calls it, An honest moment depicting a place I was in just after losing my friend and going through a break up, all at the same time. Raw emotion spills from All I Give a Fuck About, a song Noble free styled while thinking of his ex. While he continued to work on making the relationship work he wrote Twilight. I was really trying but we were just total opposites. The beat reminds me of New York, he recalls. Nobles entire project was written during the course of moving from New York to Los Angeles. For him it represents self-reflection. He calls Wherever You Are, out of all of the songs hes ever written, his favorite: It marks my first collaboration with black violins and is my most raw vulnerable vocal.

Nobles highly anticipated EP Rebirth of Gene is a convergence of both emotional depth and Nobles creative mind. It revisits love lost and love found while offering a mindful recognition of the state of the world around us. Nobles Rebirth of Gene represents all that is vulnerable, intimate, superbly tangible and melodic. Its the kind of music Noble fell in love with. Its the same sanctuary he created as a child when he lost his father Gene. Its the same sanctuary that helped him save himself in order to give us Gene Noble and the Rebirth of Gene.
