Captivating vocals, infectious personality, determined attitude and life experiences that most 21 year olds can only dream of, Geneva Lane was always destined for stardom.
Geneva attended Guildford's Academy of Contemporary Music and spent a year working on a Vocal Higher Diploma. Whilst at Guildford's Academy of Contemporary Music, Geneva found herself being placed in a band with fellow singer songwriter Ed Sheeran. On Ed's departure the band was given a new member and Pimp daddy and the Diva was born. Remembering back that took things to a new level because we were made to make decisions on everything to do with the group and could be hugely creative.
In 2011, Geneva reinvented herself with an independent release, appropriately titled 'Karma'. Crediting her father, who was a vocalist for a blues band, for her love of music "I grew up listening to blues, funk, soul and old-school music, so there are elements of that in there (Karma). I've taken all the things which inspire me and made them contemporary. After reaching number 4 in the club charts and number 24 in the urban charts, Geneva is now working on her eagerly anticipated debut album.
A hard working go getter, Geneva's determination will see her reach extraordinary heights in 2012 as she works with a range of songwriters and producers to ensure she gives her loyal fans exactly what they deserve - amazing inspirational music coming from Geneva herself straight to the heart of each and every member of Lanes legion. For me, being a singer isn't about wanting to be famous. It never has been. I want to make good music and perform with a live band and put on a real show. The most important thing for me is that I stay true to myself. I know that what I've created now is everything I'm passionate about."
