Biography

Gina Venturini is a vocalist in the classic sense of the term. She sings from the soul and loves every note with all of her heart. From classic jazz to classical chorale, a television audience or a Saturday night crowd, Gina is right at home. Her delicate, crystal clear and beautiful voice cuts to the raw emotion of a song and deeply touches the listener every time. You will feel her motto, Let the music from your soul touch anothers heart. Gina grew up in North Platte, Nebraska knowing at age three that she wanted to be a performer. She studied trumpet in high school before switching to opera at the University of Nebraska. Upon graduation, Gina made another switch, this time to the musical hotbed of Minneapolis. There she performed as a backup singer for a Neil Diamond/Elvis impersonator. She soon landed a tour with a Top 40 dance band called Passion. Gina honed her craft while singing six nights a week in Marriot hotels up and down the East Coast. In August of 2003, Gina hooked up with guitarist/songwriter Sean Stratton and Drummer Tristan Destry to form a partnership called Genius Girl and in May of 2005 they released their Original Country/Blues/Jazz compilation of love songs titled "Happy Moon". After a year of playing the Local La circuit and local festivals, Gina is back to being a solo artist and in search of professional musicians to back her on Jazz standards and her original music. Ginas voice has been heard on local radio stations from Nebraska to Los Angeles. She has also appeared as a dancer and featured vocalist in several musical theater productions, and has joined countless bands onstage in Los Angeles and on national tours.

As I travel down this lonely road, far away from place that I called home contemplating thoughts race through my mind
Will they lead me back to you? Back to you

The what ifs, the whys, and the where’s have shaped my life into a questionnaire
And I don’t think I like the answers
Will they lead me back to you? Back to you

A different time, a different place, a different name, and a different face, where would my life be right now, if I had chose another road?

Would it lead me back to you?
Would it lead me back to you?
Would it lead me back to you?
Back To you

I look beyond to what the road might bring and in the darkness of life’s uncertainties; a bright light shines on the horizon

It will lead me back to you
It will lead me back to you
It will lead me back to you
Back to you

Happy Moon

Let My Call Break your fall
Let this gleam mend your dream
A happy moon is rising soon

We’ll be rising, rising on it
We’ll be riding, riding on it

Don’t need stars tonight, don’t need no candlelight.
We’ll be rising soon on a happy moon
Kisses on my skin light my heart within
Just like lovers do before they break in two

Don’t deny or question why
Your beating heart knows its part
My salty lips await your sips

They’ll be waiting, waiting for you
They’ll be waiting, waiting for you

Just like Lover’s do before they break in two
We’ll be rising in soon on a happy moon
You won’t feel alone the light will take you home
You won’t feel alone the light will take you home

Let my call break your fall
Let this gleam mend your dream
A happy moon is rising soon

We’ll be riding, riding on it
We’ll be rising, rising on it

Super Sophisto

She’s a super-sophisto
From San Francisco
She likes politics
And funky trail mix
She’s an earth-child
With a grungy hair style
She don’t shave her legs
Like girls in L.A.

Well you can try to meet her but it’s such a chore
The look in her eyes say’s “love is such a bore”
She likes dead flowers and clothes all in black
She likes to watch the rain and read Sylvia Plath

She don’t trust the government or folks from L.A.
She suspects her boyfriend might really be gay
She likes to dance in the moonlight down by the bay
She’s got bare feet, and she looks…hella sweet.

Ain’t got time for a walk by the sea
She just rather chill with aromatherapy
She likes dead flowers and clothes all in black
She likes to watch the rain and read Sylvia Plath

She’s a super-sophisto
From San Francisco
She likes politics
And funky trail mix
She’s an earth-child
With a grungy hair style
She don’t shave her legs
Like girls in L.A.

She’s a Super-Sophisto
