"Gentleman Reg "You Can't Get It Back""

"You Can't Get It Back" steps away from Reg Vermue's usual tweeness and breaks out the riffage, as he turns up the amp to about seven to drop palm-mutes and guitar leads throughout this spirited number. Reg sounds pretty confident too, like the last four years were spent pumping jugs of milk or something. I wouldn't go so far as to say he's been cruising along in a Silverado pick-up listening to Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band, but judging by this newfound rock-ability I'd say at some point or another there's been at least some BTO blasting through his iPod while racing along Queen Street West on a Schwinn. - Exclaim.ca

"The Anti-Hit List: An Alternative Top Ten"

"You Can't Get It Back" - "Rollicking" isn't an adjective you'd have much occasion to apply to this Toronto-by-way-of-Guelph singer songwriter's output, but it sits easily on this preview of a long-overdue album. Listening to the verses, you could imagine this having started out as a slow, brooding ballad. But once the first chorus kicks in, all bets are off. Also, well worth checking out is "Falling Back," reminiscent of Reg's moving "Give Me A Chance To Fall". - Toronto Star

Bio

Songwriter Reg Vermue aka Gentleman Reg has been making music for the past decade. His last full-length, 2004's 'Darby & Joan', landed him on the cover of NOW Magazine and Out Magazine's 'Hot 100' of 2006. Reg appeared in the 2006 John Cameron Mitchell film 'Short Bus' and was featured on the soundtrack. He recently finished recording his latest album, 'Jet Black', due out in February on Arts&Crafts. Infectious and undeniable, Reg has a voice from heaven. He has toured with BSS, Stars, Tegan & Sara, The Hidden Cameras, amongst others. Sara Quin of Tegan & Sara, said of 'Jet Black, "Sincere and memorable, the melodies and lyrics make this a front runner for most exciting record of the year". Reg will take to the road in the fall with a new band behind a new 7" single, "You Can't Get It Back" and a U.S. only EP, 'Little Buildings', both out Nov. 11th.
