The Sunlight Factor Geoff Becket and Richard Stanley

The Sunlight Factor Geoff Becket and Richard Stanley

BandPopAdult Contemporary

We're Songwriters, oh and Geoff is a fantastic singer. We make catchy, meaningful music.

Biography

Geoff's been a Drummer and singer in bands since he was a teen. As well as having a Accoustic hardware business and a forgiving girlfriend, he finds time to write, perform and sing beautifully.

Rich works with emotions, he teaches adults how to help children and writes a bit too. From a large family of musicians and artists, he always wanted to be a lead singer. Unfortunately his singing voice is like a toad's mating call.

What the Hell Happened
© Richard Stanley, Geoff Beckett 2008

Verse 1

You say - our lives are so entwined - we just wind each other up
And you say there’s things I want to do that don’t involve you - it’s tough luck

So what am I going to do?
Cos I can’t believe it’s true

Chorus 1

What the hell happened last night?
What the hell happened last night?
How can I make you understand I want to make it right
What the hell happened last night?

Verse 2

He says -she’ll come running back in the end - they always do
And she says -every things gonna be alright - it’s best that you stay cool
And I try to hear the words they’re tell me but I know not true not true

So how can I be cool?
When I’m crazy about you

Chrous 2

What the hell happened last night?
What the hell happened last night?
Now that you’ve answered your phone won’t you please let me put it right
What the hell happened last night?

Bridge
I say we are so much stronger when we entwine
with each other
I say there ain’t a problem we can’t solve together
if you’re inclined
Lets give it one more try and maybe we will find
that everything will be alright
and you say I’ll give it one more try

Chrous 3

Everything’s gonna be alright
Everything’s gotta be alright

Lets just forget about those stupid words and the stupid fight and

What the hell happened
What the hell happened
What the hell happened last night

Pull your socks up Nicky

Written By: R Stanley, G Beckett

Pull your Socks up Nicky © 2008

Pull your socks up Nicky
Time to walk tall
C’mon c’mon light up the catwalk baby
We’re gonna have a ball

Reach your arms out Nicky
Time to show your hand
C’mon c’mon pull out those aces
Cos we’ve us a master plan

We’ll bring the whole house down
We’ll set alight this town
We’ll show them all that you’re back
They’ll realise - they know Jack…Shit

Oh Nicky you’re in demand
They read the headlines but they still don’t understand
Hide your hate behind your smile
They’ll be blinded by your beauty and your style

C’mon c’mon show them how wrong they all were

Throw your hair back Nicky
Time to show your eyes
C’mon c’mon keep ‘em distracted baby
We’re gonna OUT all those lies

Cos in the end when you recall
The crazy rise and lousy fall
At least you’ll have the memory of
The night you pulled the whole thing off

Oh Nicky the stage is set
The writings on the wall but they haven’t read it yet
Time to take your curtain call
The lights are on the crowd’s shouting out for more

C’mon C’mon show them how strong you are

C’mon C’mon show them you belong right there

C’mon C’mon show them how wrong they all were

Oh Nicky you’re in demand
They read the headlines but they still don’t understand
About your world of fear and doubt
How Dr Rehab couldn’t straighten you out

They’re shouting out for more

Shake your tail now Nicky

They’re shouting out for more

Pull your socks up Nicky

I Will Sing A Lullaby © Richard Stanley, Geoff Beckett 2008

A E
I will sing a lullaby
D A
Just to see if it touches you
A E
And if you give it one more try

D
I’ll sing a love song
A
Like I used to do

Bmin E
I will run a hundred miles
A
Just to tell you
D
That I love your smile
Bmin E
Don’t worry if a storm cloud passes by
We’ll be fine

La la la

E D
Ohh we’ll chase the clouds away

E D
Let a ray of sunlight come to brighten up our day
We’ll sing

La la

A E
I will play a melody
D
Just to see
A
If it captures you

A E
And if you sing along with me

D
I’ll change your tune with

A
Subtle harmonies

Bmin E
I will write a hundred songs with my guitar
A
Just to tell you
D
That it’s not a waste of time
Bmin
Though you shudder as the north wind passes by

E
You’ll be more than fine

E D
Ohh and we’ll chase the clouds away
E D
As a ray of sunshine comes to brighten up our day
We’ll sing
La la

Inst

Bmin E
But if you feel the weight of dark clouds everywhere
A
Then we’ll hold hands
D
and shelter from the storm
Bmin
And my love will keep you warm
E
I’ll be your sunshine

E D
Ohh and we’ll chase the clouds away
E D
As a ray of sunshine comes to brighten up our day
We’ll sing

Na Na or La la

A E
I will sing a lullaby
D A
Just to see if it comforts you

Days Go By

Days Go By © Geoff Beckett, Richard Stanley 2008

A sea under a blue sky
Changes on reflection
With the tide
What if I
Could see you once again?

Feeling never younger
Hold on to the moment
How do I?
How could I remember who you are?

And the days go by then you just walk in to my heart
You take me by the hand
And I’m there where you are

This boy’s become a man
Now I understand the way that you were

Walk under a grey sky
Never had a chance
To say goodbye
Father, I
Hope you understand

And the days go by then you just walk in to my heart
Take me by the hand
And I’m there where you were

The boy’s become a man
Now I understand the way that you were

And I dream some day that we are walking hand in hand
You hold me in your arms
To close the space between us
