Over the years, I've tried to focus on sound and production. Recording digitally now, I'm able to experiment with different effects and techniques, including combining layers, for both guitar and vocals. It usually takes a lot of inspiration and luck to come up with something special, considering how many recording artists are out there and how many tracks have been recorded through the years, so I try to be innovative. I like the overall sound to be subtle, yet engaging. Strong, yet articulate.
I think that music should be exciting. Songs should be about something. I also believe in developing style. Out-front drums with a good sound make a song rock 10 times more, and that is what separates us from almost all other bands. I prefer Lennon/Ramones type vocals; creative and layered, yet laid back, as opposed to screaming- a lyric delivery device rather than a chopfest saying nothing.
For me, production starts with the writing process, focusing on songs that get hot, and then it's about editing, going with the flow. I always go into the process trying to create the catchiest song ever. One last thing: I would like to thank Sonicbids for all their help; this is just the type of thing that can help renew musical innovation.
