As the dreary act of committing to modern culture occurred to Geoff in his early twenties he realized that earning a reliable salary, waking up at seven only to nap in a cubicle until eleven, and sacrificing his time for a stranger’s bottom line was not for him. He began doing stand up in Ottawa, Canada as a means of avoiding this vapid vortex.
His cerebral, sometimes hilarious, always hysterical material has made him a fixture on the Ottawa comedy scene since 2004. He avoids traditional comedy topics but finds absurdity in toasters, math textbooks, and skydiving. He has performed across Canada, the UK, the Culturally Divided States of America and a headlining tour in China.
In 2009 he was handpicked by “Everyday Normal Guy” Jon Lajoie to open his shows at the legendary Cobb’s Comedy club in San Francisco.
In 2010 he was a top five finalist in XM Radio‘s national comedy competition “Canada’s Next Top Comic”. Geoff can be seen regularly on Bite TV’s “Funny Flow”.
In 2011 he performed a headlining tour in China and filmed a documentary entitled “A Little Trouble in Big China”. The documentary examines the challenges of performing stand up comedy for a diverse global audience…and the mayhem of accidentally getting booked to sing at a televised Chinese beauty pageant!
