"Interview with Trish Hennessy of Hybrid Jazz"

North Carolina born, Geoff McBride, is probably no stranger to your ears. He lit UP "The Voice" a few seasons ago with his blind audition of "Higher Ground!" Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green about lost their minds - and so did WE. The Church foundation of his youth, coupled with the inspiration of Seal, Luther and James Taylor, propelled Geoff into the spotlight that he so richly deserves. If you can blow away his mentor on the show, Lionel Richie, THAT says everything! Geoff's sparkling story is told by way of CD, "Journey to the Soul." He says, "My foundation is in Soul Music - but I am not just a Soul Singer." THAT is because everything he does generates FROM there! Once you hear a few tracks from this Powerhouse, you'll KNOW! - Hybrid Jazz

"Jazz Monthly Feature Interview"

Two years after Geoff McBride blew away millions of viewers – and judges Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green, who quickly swiveled around - with his explosive twist on Stevie Wonder’s “Higher Ground” during the blind auditions phase of NBC’s mega-hit talent competition, the versatile powerhouse singer is delivering big time on the promise and praise.
Incorporating pop, R&B, urban jazz, gospel and rock, his new independent album Journey of the Soul goes beyond strict genre boundaries to showcase the depth of his artistry. Its lead single, a cover of the Todd Rundgren penned pop/gospel classic “Love Is the Answer,” is receiving substantial airplay across the country on contemporary jazz and R&B stations. The album was produced by renowned music industry studio veteran, keyboardist and recording artist Trammell Starks, owner of Studiomagic Recording Studios in Apharetta, Georgia.
If McBride seems confident, self-assured and seasoned for an emerging talent, it’s because he brings a unique history as a onetime Arista recording artist to the mix. Signing to Clive Davis’ famed label – whose roster then included Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin and Ray Charles - after also receiving offers from Motown and Atlantic Records, he released his lone album Do You Still Remember Love? It was produced by the late Gerald Levert and spawned the Billboard R&B chart hit “No Sweeter Love.” - Jazz Monthly

"The Fish House Band"

"On weekend nights at the Old Florida Fish House, the house band sings perfect renditions of all of your favorite songs. Sometimes they sing for five hours without stopping. The restaurant's reputation for great food is rivaled only by its growing popularity along 30-A as the destination for music lovers looking for a quality and class of live entertainment typically not found outside 'Big' cities." - Nellie DeBruyn (Coastal Homes & Lifestyle Magazine)

Still working on that hot first release.

You thought you heard him on “The Voice.” Then Geoff McBride as he takes a deeper, more expansive exploration after his Journey To The Soul recording.  "Journey to the Soul was a collaboration between myself and Trammell Starks.  I stepped away from my desires and allowed the album to dictate the songs.  I am very proud of the work, but I am ready for the world to hear Geoff, both the singer and the writer."

Having only returned to singing live professionally in late 2006, after some years away from the industry, McBride’s rekindled passion inspired his exciting decision to become a recording artist once again.

With a rich vocal palette that taps as deeply into the church music traditions of his youth as it does the romantic power of legends like Seal, Luther Vandross, Marvin Gaye and Al Green, the North Carolina raised, Florida based singer brings his uncanny storytelling ability – in the tradition of another of his heroes, James Taylor – to every performance.
