At first, looking at Amelia L Henry, one doesn’t immediately get the sense that you are seeing a powerhouse dynamo, looks can be deceiving. When you look at, and listen to, Amelia Bluzh, you will find t that this Kingston Jamaica born, (1982) Brooklyn bred lady is multi-talented artist and a powerhouse dynamo. Welcome to this fresh new talent Amelia Bluzh aka Tha Music Babi (T.M.B). Amelia soulful conscious reggae artist is Recording Artist / Performer / Songwriter / Engineer / Producer who specialize in conscious culture Reggae music / R&B / Soul / Hip Hop. Amelia became a poet as means of expressing her feelings and frustration. Poetry allowed her to express her feeling via the spoken word. But as she notes, singing and songwriting allowed her to “express my feelings in a different way.” music became her new stress relief.
Having migrated to the USA in 1995, Amelia wrote poetry. In 2002 Amelia Bluzh was serenading someone in front of her building; a stranger heard her and took her to legendary producer Phillip Smart’s HC&F studio on Long Island where she met producer Howie Walker and Rollin. At the audition Amelia sang her poetry. Amelia spent six month at HC&F where she learnt through songwriting to horned her skills and developing her craft as song writer
Amelia left HC&F studio, and took two and a half years break in Florida practicing developing her writing and vocal skill. Amelia learned at HC&F. Lecturer introduced her to Stopall Productions. In 2007 “Hear Dem Talking” the single was released by Stopall Production, along with video, unlike many the business savvy Amelia copy write copy write by library of congress, the video, aired on Susie Q CIN Reggae top ten charts. The popularity of the song let to promoters call for her and Lecturer to do live show, but the partnership fizzled. In 2007 “Hear Dem Talking” video charted at #3 on Susie Q Reggae Top Ten.
Live performance for Amelia wouldn't happen until 2009. She headed for the West Coast where did a few shows on including Best of the Bay in California, one at Six flags with Jamaican entertainer Little Hero and another culture group Midnite from the US Virgin Island.
Amelia returned to New York in the summer the summer of 2010. Amelia then bought some of the beats from a producer, coupled them with some popular rhythms and produced her ten tracks debut album “ Free Amelia“ by the end of 2010 on On My Mind Records in Brooklyn NY. As the title suggest Amelia wanted to be released form the musical prison she felt she was locked in.
In the meantime Amelia Bluzh kept up her live performance doing shows with various artists such as Bigga Haitian, Allen Kerfew also performed on Flatbush Street Fair for Jamaica 50th anniversary Independence celebration. In 2012 she placed third place in Culture Zone Music Awards competition in Queens NY. Amelia Bluzh continues to, write, record at OnMyMind Records studio in Brooklyn, and perform live throughout New York California and Jamaica making a name for herself. T.M.B. to the world.
