Four-time Grammy-winner, master slack key guitarist George Kahumoku Jr., (left above) known as Hawaiis Renaissance Man, is also a multiple Na Hk Hanohano (Hawaiian Grammy) Award winner. He is also a vocalist, storyteller, songwriter & author, world-traveling performer, as well as a high school and college teacher, artist and sculptor, farmer, chef (traditional Hawaiian cuisine), and entrepreneur.

Georges newest compilation Masters of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar, Vol. 2 has just captured a fourth Grammy in January 2010. George and fellow slack key artists were thrilled to receive the 2006 Grammy Award in the new category of Best Hawaiian Album for their first compilation CD Masters of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar, Vol. 1: Live in Concert from Maui. In the next two years, two more Grammys followed, and in 2009, the Spirit of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar was a Grammy nominee. All five CDs were taped live at the prestigious Masters of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Concert Series, a weekly show now in its 6th year and hosted by George on the island of Maui (www.slackkey.com).

Masters of Hawaiian Music. George, and master musicians from the Grammy-Award-winning CDs, live and share authentic Hawaiian culture. With George, Dennis Kamakahi, Uncle Richard Hoopii, and Bobby Ingano, the music is the real down-home sound of Hawaii. Highly respected masters, all four are delightful performers, all veterans of outdoor festivals to clubs to the concert stage, a bit kolohe (a bit of the rascal in them), always entertaining. Since Hawaiian musicand slack key tuningis passed down through families, the next Generationsons Keoki Kahumoku and David Kamakahi occasionally join the tour.
