Sounds a bit like James Taylor and his story telling songs have a relaxed ease to them. The band, assembled by Tod Baharian, is terrific. The lyrical themes are personal, heartfelt, and visually descriptive. A late bloomer, he's been songwriting since 2003 and began taking guitar lessons in 2001.

Biography

George's background includes over 30 years of working in corporate settings, currently serving as Chief Talent Officer for Ogilvy & Mather, a global advertising and communications firm.

His music adventure began more recently. He began taking guitar lessons in 2001 to embark upon a joint activity with his son; who at the time was moving through a bit of a bumpy adolescence. After about 18 months, he began to write songs and deeply immersed himself in the process. His son tried desperately to counsel him to moderate this rather odd, obsessive behavior and to stop acting so juvenile; but it was beyond hope.

How he had overlooked this deep interest in artistic expression is unclear, however opening this new door has been both rewarding and exhilarating for him. Like most people, he writes from a wide array of experiences, from growing up in a small house with six children, working summer jobs in steel factories to residing in Paris. Combining his lyrics with pleasant, simple melodies, he has discovered a new world at a rather late stage. He feels he has a lot of catching up to do.

George also acknowledges his family and group of friends for their love, humor, encouragement, criticism and patience with him during this journey.

hearts on fire

Written By: george rose

it started with that look in your eyes
bright eyes that could light up a night
going slow and feeling butterflies
your smile made me feel alright

been together since we set our hearts on fire
didn't know where we might be nor when
we've had good times and it's been rough
but we've never had enough
of this ride so keep it running on again

first date was a prom dressed to the nines
borrowed my neighbors shoes
as the night wore on, we saw some early signs
of a lifetime with nothing to lose

been together since we set our hearts on fire
didn't know where we might be nor when
we've had good times and it's been rough
but we've never had enough
of this ride so keep it running on again

said i love you a long time ago
my memory of then is quite clear
to the road ahead, we were ready to go
to this place that we call right here

been together since we set our hearts on fire
didn't know ehere we might be nor when
we've had good times and it's been rough
but we've never had enough
of this ride so keep it running on again

been togther since we set our hearts on fire
didn't know where we might be nor when
we've had good times and it's been rough
but we've never had enough
of this ride so keep it running on again

we've had good times and it's been rough, but we've never had enough
of this ride so keep it running on again

love for life

Written By: George Rose

i am walking uptown with my beautiful child
she's holding my hand but yet leading the way
she never stops talking, I thought as I smiled
twenty-one years feels like yesterday

i loved to sing you songs to help you sleep at night
wishing your sweet baby dreams would come true
you are my one star who never fails to shine bright
your love for life is what comes through

there is love and stardust in her eyes
like the sun after the rain
when she stumbles she always seems to rise
accepting all the sacrifice and pain

I loved to sing you songs to help you sleep at night
wishing your sweet baby dreams would come true
you are my one star who never fails to shine bright
your love for life is what comes through

my beautiful child you're a woman now
how a life and the years roll on by
i love to hear you talking, to lead me when i'm walking
sharing a spirit that i know will never die

i loved to sing you songs to help you sleep at night
wishing your sweet baby dreams would come true
you are my one star who never fails to shine bright
your love for life is what comes through

i loved to sing you songs to help you sleep at night
wishing your sweet baby dreams, would come true
you are my one star who never fails to shine bright
your love for life is what comes through

your love for life is what comes through

'til the day I die

Written By: George Rose

i once read him stories and his eyes opened wide
sung him songs 'til he slept by my side
i've been uneasy and held on tight
looked out my window hoping he's alright

back when i was younger, i'd come in late at night
my mom would greet me, ready for a fight
from the back door to the bedroom i would hear her say to me
same words i've said today of how bad a boy can be

despite all the trials and those restless nights
i see him learning all the lessons of a life
no matter what he will do as time goes by
i am always there for him 'til the day i die

i am growing older and so is my son
at times I've seen trouble in what he has done
although I've been partial when i think of him
i worry where he's going and where he might have been

lately he has found the wind and sails with the tide
charting a bold course with a sense of pride
times are changing, all part of his plan
thankful for the lessons, that make him a man

despite all the trials and those restless nights
i see him learning all the lessons of a life
no matter what he will do as time goes by
i am always there for him, 'til the day i die

'til the day i die. ...la la la la ...
