George Shaw

George began his musical endeavors at age ten in Louisville Kentucky (USA) taking private lessons on guitar. After obtaining the essential skills and manipulation of this instrument, he was later deemed professional at the age of eleven, and shortly thereafter educated himself in the basic principles of music theory. During that time period he also procured the concept and the ability to play multiple instruments (the bass and drums).

This knowledge assisted George as he went on to accompany such recording artist as; The Impressions (post Curtis Mayfield), BeBe & CeCe Winans, The Mighty Clouds of Joy, and The Moonglows (second generation). After mastering the guitar, and being a novice of other instruments, he later developed skills for becoming an accomplished pianist.

As a keyboardist he furthered his musical knowledge by obtaining more tutelage in jazz theory by several of Louisville’s most noted pianists and instructors. Several years of this special training led him to become the backbone of such local premier groups as; The Snap Band, Spontaneous Reaction, Chekee, Breeze, Tanita Gains, Curtis Gains, Donna Mason, Janise Carter, Blazze, Harmony, The Formula Band, Pajazz, Forefront, 4U, Unlimited, Jerry Green and Friends, Phat Cats, and various other groups along with local gospel artists.

To date George has opened for a vast array of national acts, such as; Vertical Hold, Tom Brown, James Brown, Norman Brown, Colen England, George Howard, Najee, Wayman Tisdale, Zapp, Alex Bugnon, Joe McBride, Jennifer Holiday, Miki Howard, Roy Ayers, Pieces of a Dream, Parliament, Jonathan Butler, Marion Medows, Brain Culbertson, Denis Edwards, The Emotions, Bobby Blue Bland, and Pamela Williams.

He also has furthered his abilities in the area of Musical Director at various churches in the US. These responsibilities involved: orchestrating bands, presenting songs to musicians, and teaching music and choral harmony parts to the choirs of churches in the surrounding areas and abroad.

George also owns and operates a recording facility called S.I.P.P.S (Sound & Innovative Pre-Production Studios). Under the S.I.P.P.S roof he produces and arranges songs for clients, engineer’s sessions, contracts bands for Churches, Clubs and Private engagements, and sub-contracts PA set-ups for various occasions. Some of which include: Providing sound and engineering for such artist as: Vickie Winans, Larry Trotter, Bobby Jones, Rodney Bryant, KEM, Brian Culbertson and Alex Bugnon, just to name a few. He also has done sound production and engineering work on several local and national projects, like; A Jerry Greens Christmas (local album), ACE Boyz (local album), Black Starz Movie Channel (national jingle) and dozens of other single local music store and production projects.

After touring most of America, Asia and the UAE, George has currently focused his skills and talents in enlightening various countries in the many facets of Western Cultural Music, while obtaining much cultural diversity for himself as well.
