"Steve Tulipana"

"Without seeing Georgia Gordon perform live you'd never geuss that she was still a teenager. Her songs have a world weariness to them and her voice is strong and confident but with a touch of vulnerability that makes you believe what she is singing. There is an honesty that you do not get from a lot of new young singer songwriters." - The Record Bar, Kansas City, Missouri, USA

"Craig Jeffrey"

'Georgia is a crazy talent! She is poetic, melodic and has everything she needs to win hearts. Voice of an Angel!'
- singer/songwriter

"Traquair Fair"

‘We all loved Georgia's voice as soon as we heard her and her songs are wonderful. She has a very engaging and unassuming presence on stage and you are drawn to keep listening to her. She endured torrential rain for her gig at the Traquair Fair but her voice brought out the sun.’
- Catherine Maxwell Stuart

Bio

Georgia insisted on reading poems at bedtime as a child instead of storybooks. The usual piano lessons at 7 led to guitar at 12 and then to song writing which grew out of her love of poetry.

The beautiful surroundings of the Borders have been a strong influence and are reflected in her writing. Her musical influences and inspirations include KT Tunstall, Paolo Nutini, Angus and Julia Stone, I Blame Coco and Bombay Bicycle Club. Georgia describes her work as a mix of folk, acoustic, indie, alternative and pop.

Unique and strikingly poetic lyrics coupled with arresting vocals and tunes which belie her years, this 18 year old from the Scottish Borders was described as 'already a star in the making' by The Scotsman at Celtic Connections Danny Kyle stage.

October 2013 found her shortlisted as one of five finalists in Radio Forth One's One to Watch.

Recently signed by Folk Rag Records her EP launch is in January 2014 and will be quickly followed by an album - 'I have a lot of material I can't wait to work on with a full band and with the ultra talented Pete Nicholson of Folk Rag'.
