"Music is pretty damn heavy"

GEORGIAN SKULL
http://www.myspace.com/georgianskull
Coming down from Canada, this metal band has been around for a little while; their first album was released in 2002. It sounds like they have been together for a while too, they don’t have the “new band” feel to them. I can always tell the difference between a band that has been together for years, and just a band that started 4 weeks ago. These guys put an album out earlier this year and they have another album coming out later this year. Anyway, these guys have a good, metal sound to them. Singer reminds me of Phil Anselmo. He has that raw, heavy voice to him, like Phil. Music is pretty damn heavy, lots of good riffs, and heavy drums. They have some old school thrash sounds to them as well. All in all, a great metal band. Check them out.

"perfect start to the night."

METAL was riddled with conflict and surprises. We arrived @ sound check to find a band we didn't book, ready for action. Mister Bones travelled on good word from Call The Office that they would be playing that night, thank god they did... they rocked so hard, and were really nice about being fucked around. With a Clutch charging metal/obscured time changing sound, led by an axe-wailing, growling, sweating frontman, Mister Bones was the The crowd was pumped plump with rock and roll.

"Hamilton Bring you ear Plugs"

With a lead singer based London, a guitarist in Windsor, and a
label in Montreal, the logical thing for a band that's so spread out
to do is find a Toronto bass player and a Hamilton drummer. Well
rehearsals might require more driving, but for the newly
christened Georgian Skull (formerly Mister Bones), the music
makes the travelling time worthwhile. And with a new release in
hand, another on the way and some auspicious gigs, Georgian
Skull plan to do some travelling together to spread the word. But
first, they release their most recent effort, Monster Burn and The
Power Seekers (Obskure Somber Records) in one of their
hometowns.
"One of the best things I loved about Mister Bones was their
excitement and love they have to play and anyone can notice it,"
explains the local representative and former Inside drummer Ace
Piva. With the amicable dissolution of Inside after eight years, the
members quickly immersed themselves in other projects to fuel
their muse. Marc A. Pichette and Andrew McLean formed Drifter,
Guy Lapensee is now working on a project called Rhodium and
Piva jumped at the chance to join the band he first fell in love with
four years ago while on tour with Inside.
"Once Inside was put to rest, I needed something new to
focus on," recalls Piva. "Mister Bones needed a drummer who
wanted to tour, and I was looking for a band who wanted the
same. So we emailed each other and in a matter on minutes I was
in the band."
Piva joins Al 'The Yeti' Bones (lead guitar, vocals), Steve
'Beard' Dugal (guitar) Bob Hare (bass) and the new band name
offers a new start for everyone, but as industry veterans they
seem to be greasing the promotional machine quite well already.
The band has an auspicious opening slot already booked for an
influential band (GS opens for Trouble March 28 in Toronto) and a
new recording already in the works set to be recorded at New Jersey's Underground Sound Studio with former Biohazard
members Billy Graziadei and Danny Schuler producing. And if that
weren't enough, Piva reports the four are so galvanized they hope
to break a record set by one of the hardest working bands in loud
rock.
"Our North American tour will be starting June 1 in Canada,"
says Piva. "I'm a Black Flag fan and they went down in history for
doing 50 shows in 50 days. I don't know of any other band that
has done that. We are trying to do 55 shows in 55 days.
"Georgian Skull is going to be loud," adds Piva. "If you're a
metalhead and want to head bang don't miss this show. I think
our sound is less stoner rock and more metal, but people can
make up their own minds and file us into any category they want.
As long as people give us the chance to melt their faces at a live
show, that's all we want."

"music's loudest voices"

"In the world of heavy rock and heavier metal, there are Gods and there are Monsters. And in some cases, there is a hybrid mix of both. One of is a resident of right here in Windsor, and his presence is being felt (and heard) across the world. That man is Alex "the Yeti Bones" Petrovich, also known simply as "The Yeti" or just "Al Bones". He is the brains behind one of the loudest products, Stoner Metal Icons, Mister Bones." –Jamie Greer Upfront Magazine.

Bio

Inspired by 1970's Heavy Metal such as Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and Thin Lizzy, GEORGIAN SKULL have fused the past with even heavier metal, bands like Clutch, Pantera and Entombed. Georgian Skull continues to redefine their sound and presence as one of the most important bands to have come out of Canada. The death of the Stoner band, Mister Bones brought out the most significant chapter of the band's life: its afterlife. Which is simply known as the GEORGIAN SKULL. A revolution is on its way, a great tale is about to be told, and the power of the Doom and Groove that possess this band will set out to unleash a masterful work in their new album, being release on Scarlet Records, "Mother Armageddon", Georgian Skull is absolutely one of the most crushing live bands to watch perform, and are a MUST for any fan of Black Sabbath.
Georgian Skull is a 4 piece out of Windsor, London, and Hamilton Canada, and is led by Vocalist/Lead Guitarist, the clearly tormented monster AL "The Yeti" Bones.(also frontman for U.S.A 's sludge king's THE MIGHTY NIMBUS and former Canadian Stoner band, MISTER BONES). In The Yeti's own words, he says "The new record will blow the fuckin' doors wide open on who we are and what we're doing musically at this moment in time. It is more than just a vibe. It's our lives. We put our heart and souls in this record and it aint nothing to be fucked with... This is the real deal."
THE BAND NAME originates from, a recent discovery of "the skull that’s changing a thousand minds." It could be the face of the first human to leave Africa. And it’s not what anyone expected. The 1.75-million-year-old pioneer, found last year beneath the ruins of a medieval town called Dmanisi in the republic of Georgia, had a tiny brain—not nearly the size scientists thought our ancestors needed to migrate into a new land. And its huge canine teeth and thin brow look too apelike for an advanced hominid, the group that includes modern humans and their ancestors. Along with other fossils and tools found at the site, this skull reopens so many questions about our ancestry that one scientist muttered: “They ought to put it back in the ground.” The whole basis behind this discovery is in search of the truth. In search of evolution, and the beginning of time. GEORGIAN SKULL is a band that carries this message and more...Apocalyptic lyrics meshed with life's struggle for sanity, crossed with the biggest, baddest riffs command the attention of every audience they play for.
