Bio

Fresh out of high school, Nathaniel Gerdes was set and determined to be a graphic designer. Although he had much passion for music and knew music inside and out, he chose to attend the Art Institute of San Francisco. After attending for a month he dropped out and decided it wasn't right for him. One week later his girlfriend broke up with him, he lost his job at a local deli and broke his foot skateboarding, all within a week. Through all of his loss he found music. Known to the public by his nickname since the 4th grade "Gerdes" he kept the name as his stage name. Gerdes' unbelievable passion for music got him a gig within the first week of rapping. Quickly he struggled to produce 5 solid songs and memorize them so that he can perform the following week. As promised the young passionate kid put on the best performance of the night gaining him many fans. After this stunning display of passion and bravery only one week deep into his music career, Gerdes set out and invested in making his own home studio and formed a small music group titled "Green Eggs Go Ham". Green Eggs Go Ham, late January, put out a mixtape titled "Oh, The Places You'll Flow!" Successfully that mixtape put Gerdes on the map, gaining recognition from several music blogs such as "Bay Area Compass". The following month Green Eggs Go Ham produced the mixtape titled "The Loraps" which ended up being the last mixtape for the group. The other members had other plans for there lives but Gerdes persevered. The boy now had to start from scratch and build up a solo career. Thinking long into the night Gerdes came up with the idea for a song called "Live Life" which landed him on many local radio stations and even plays out in Cleveland, Ohio. Gerdes worked many months under the radar, focusing on his dream. Despite what others thought he released his first solo mixtape titled "The Lost" which generated 1.5 Thousand plays within the first 24 hours of its release. The Lost told the story of how you must lose everything you have to find what you love. One month after his release of The Lost, Gerdes had a good friend that passed away and released a song in dedication to her titled "Smile". The song generated several hundred dollars to donate to her family and landed him a gig opening up for world renown artist Chris Rene as seen on the X-Factor and is signed by Sony. Now this brings us to today where Gerdes produces all of his own original instrumentals and still works out of a home studio. While fans eagerly wait for his upcoming project titled CAMP (Chillin' Amongst My People) debuting April 28th. His influences in music include Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Bon Iver, Dylan Owen, Mac Miller, Matt & Kim, Bright Eyes, Logic, G-Eazy, Aesop Rock, Atmosphere, and Kid Cudi. What sets him apart from other bands is how much he loves music. Some people believe they love music but it's what he does day and night. Learning, researching and really knowing it inside and out. his music is different then other artists because of many reasons: he creates his own original beats, he is a white rapper, he is incredibly creative, his music is based around positivity and being who you are, his music influences others to chase a dream and to be themselves.
