Bio

Gerke was first organized in April of 2009. Kyle Vincent and Kade Schaguun met and started jamming with Taylor Bryant on drums. The jams were going well until Kyle decided to move to texas. The little group disbanded and kyle began getting ready for the move. Kade began to jam with his friends Brandon "Brandog" Malcom on drums, and Jacob "Duffey" on the bass. Kade ran back into Kyle in the summer of 09 and learned that Kyle changed is mind about moving. Kyle than got brought back into the fold. The band Called themselves Jacks Inferno. They rehearsed every week, always working on new material, not always with a clear mind. haha. The band was having difficultys looking for a singer but that didnt stop them. As time went on the band learned that Jacks Inferno had been taken already by a farley popular band, so they started working up new band names. They guys thought Kyles birth last name, Gerke, would be a great band name. Kyle was very unsure about it but he went along with the name none the less. The bands first show was at the Evergreen High School Talent Show. Even tho it was a high school that did not stop the band from doing what they do. Everyone was told to be calm, not show any tattoos, and pretty do everything the exact opposite of what a rock band does on stage. They went up there none the less and rocked their hearts out, Kyle even rolled up his sleeves to show off his tattoos. The band went into their first song, which was later named Artificial Truths and rocked the house, everyone was cheering and screaming, and enjoying Gerke. Gerke had finished their song but the audiance would not let them leave. As soon as the they were about to walk off stage the audiance began chanting Gerke. The band took this oppurtunity to jump back on stage and play one more song. The Crowd went nuts!!! Half way through the songs, evergreen students charged the stage and in the process knocked down an amp, apparently damaged a back drop for the drama club, and rocked the stage with the band. Security told all of the "Moshers" to leave. Non the less Gerke walked away with the overall 1st place award. Not too Long after that, the band played at the state wide Battle for Oregon and again won the competition!!! After Playing many shows the band was rockin but still missing a singer. One drunken night of beer and they had found him. A long time freind, Alex Brothers, of the bands was drunk and started singing at the top of his lungs to a Sum 41 song. They had found their singer and started rehearsing with him emmediatley. Soon the band not only had songs, but lyrics to those songs, and people at shows would start singing along and rocking out to their tunes. After a year and a half of playing the band decided t get some of their tunes recorded. After one day of hard work in the studio the band walked away with their new EP: Gerke - Classy Moments. It featured the bands more popular songs. It containted the party anthem "Trashed and Lost", the punk/reggae tune "Bottled Up Emotions", a soft sung tune "Things you Say", and the bands Official show closer "Artificial Truths." Gerke is now currently looking for shows to play at and one day hopes to be able to play shows such as the Vans Warped Tour and the giant rock festival at donnington.
