As a songwriter, I got my first song recorded in 1991 and also signed my first publishing contract that same year. I, like most all other unknown songwriters...I would guess, am looking for my first major cut. It's a long uphill road but that alright because It means I'm getting closer to the top day by day.

Awarded five professional songwriting grants through FACTOR to date(www.factor.ca).
2005 - Published four of my songs with Dream Seekers of Hendersonville, TN. "HANG ON TIGHT", "GOOD AT EVERYTHING", "FUNDAMENTAL PROBLEMS" and "WHERE YOU STOLE MY HEART".
I wrote my first song in 1974 and it was BAD...but we all have to start somewhere. I wrote mostly pop for a long time but in the early 90's, I started noticing on the charts that there were less self-contained acts in country and so to increase my chances of getting cuts I started writing just that. It opened my eyes on how much improving I needed to do on the lyric end of things...and hopefully I continue to improve. Songwriting is a blessing for me. It's gotten me through a lot of tough times...almost like it's a type of therapy. I think only other songwriters can understand how cool it is to start with an idea and mold the words and melody into a song...that will be yours forever. I immerse myself in my writing because it always makes me feel good. It's MY identity. I've had several cuts and that too is cool. My goal is to continue to improve as a writer, to continue to expand my circle of co-writer's and to continue this exciting journey until I get that elusive major cut.
