From the Apollo Theater to Madison Square Garden to the Georgia Dome, Gernie B. has been the artist to watch since the age of six years old, when she made her debut at a local talent show in her hometown East Orange, NJ when she belted out Yolanda Adams' hit "Open Up My Heart". Since then, Gernie B. has graced many stages and performed at huge events such as the McDonald's Gospel Fest (where she won four years in a row as a "Tot" contestant), the TV Network CW’s Urban Idol (where she also won 1st place), Atlanta's own Sweet Auburn Festival, and countless more. It wasn't until the age of thirteen that she began to write her own songs, and began recording and performing them at the age of fourteen. After years of training with the likes of Atlanta's own Dance 411 superstar choreographers Sean Bankhead, Beejay Harris, and CiCi Kelley , Gernie B. earned the title of "The Female Version of Chris Brown" not long after performing her original material, which has captured the ears of the Atlanta audience and beyond. And now, at the ripe age of 19, Gernie has further developed her craft of writing, creating hits such as "Boyfriend Magnet," the socially and racially conscious "Miss Black America," and her new hit single gone viral "Hey Hater! (Look @ Me)". Gernie has been featured on this year's Hot 107.9's "Bullying Is Not Hot" Tour alongside Mindless Behavior, and the OMG Girlz, performing her original song "Malicious Hatred," a remake of Michael Jackson's 1988 hit "Dirty Diana," in dedication to all victims of bullying throughout the world. The song and music video that accompanied won the 2012 NAACP ACT-SO Award in Film. Gernie now resides in California pursuing her singing career, and upon her arrival she performed at the 2013 Pre-BET Showcase featuring Tank, Showtime in Hollywood, and has also opened up for Sheen Magazine’s 2013 Talent & Beauty Tour.
