Tugboat

Written By: Gerry Paul

Tugboat

I’m a tugboat, on the ocean
And I pull ships, with a single motion
Ocean liners, fishing trawlers, people ferries and oil tankers - Through the sea

And they call me, when they’re in danger
Big seas, make me braver
Rolling waves, hurricanes, full moon tides and even tsunamis

And my captain, captain Long Lee
He’s been acting, rather strangely
The woman with the fishes tail, He heard her sing, it broke his heart - I think

Now he doesn’t talk much, when he’s steering
I see in his eyes, something he’s fearing
And it hurts me much, to see him sad, if I had arms, him I would embrace

But I’m just a little tugboat, on the ocean
And I pull ships, with a single motion
Ocean liners, fishing trawlers, people ferries, oil tankers - Through the sea

I’m a tugboat, just a little tugboat

Elephant Bird

ELEPHANT BIRD

There’s an elephant bird in the sky
Flapping her great big ears that make her fly
I hope she does not land on me
Mistake me for an elephant tree
And leave me for a footprint in the sand

There’s an elephant bird, at a height
Being blown around like an elephant kite
I hope the wind stays strong and blows
The elephant bird with her elephant nose
Or else we are all in for a fright!

There’s an elephant bird up above
Flying with the eagle and the dove
Does it not seem peculiar?
An elephant called Julia
Singing birdie songs out from her trunk

Tweet tweet roar

What if Julia makes a dung?
It’ll be more serious than a little swallow's one!
Imagine the smell off you
If you got hit by an elephants poo
Who would sit beside you after lunch

Did anyone see the elephant bird but me
My brother says that she’s imaginary
But he’ll soon see the mean old punk
When he sees the elephant trunk
Dangling from the birds nest in the tree

There’s an elephant bird in the sky
Flapping her great big ears that make her fly
I hope she does not land on me
Mistake me for an elephant tree
And leave me for a footprint in the sand

Hank the Wrestling Shark

Written By: Gerry Paul

Hank the Wrestling Shark

As I was swimming in Bondi Bay
Which is in Australia by the way
A very scary thing happened to me
With the most terrifying creature of the sea

I was body surfing in the waves
A bit like the way a seal behaves
When a grey fin appeared right along side
Me and the fishes in the Bondi tide

Well a chill ran right down through my spine
And a million thoughts went through my mind
And I couldn’t swim or I couldn’t run
And in my head the music went

Ch.
DUM DUM DUM DUM DUM DUM DUM DUM
DUM DUM DUM DUM DUM DUM DUM
Well it was Hank the wrestling shark!

There were no boats passing by
And I had no harpoon to shoot the bad guy
Well he licked his lips and said with a toss
Let’s have a wrestle and see who’s boss

My head started spinning right around
And my toes started sinking in the sandy ground
The clouds crossed over it all went dark
And he said “ you know I’m Hank the wrestling shark don't ya?”

He had three rows of teeth, his eyes were like stone
His skin was like leather, he had a nose like a traffic cone
His dorsal fin was as sharp as a knife
And I thought I’d reached the end of my very short life

Ch.

Well he bared his teeth and looked me in the eye
And I started to shake and let out a cry
But I said to myself “I’m too young to die”
And I jumped on the back of this freaky guy

Well he threw me in the waves and whacked me with his tail
He held me under water until my face turned pale
He dragged me through the sand and bit me on the arm
And then I realised that nasty Hank meant harm!!!

Well I knew I couldn’t beat him through just sheer force
He was wide as a bus and as strong as a horse
For this sneaky shark I’d have to think outside the box
Then an idea came how to beat this swimming ox

Ch.

I reached around his back, towards his pectoral fin
And with my two fingers, I tickled with a grin
I knew I’d found his soft spot when he began to chuckle
And within half a minute, Hank began to buckle

He was laughing uncontrollably right down from his belly
And the more that Hank laughed the more he turned to jelly
He rolled around in circles but I held on really tight
And soon I began to think I might even win the fight

So then hank yelled out really loud “Gerry I give up”
I stopped tickling him and he panted like a pup
He knew he’d been defeated as he swam off with a bark
Cause I had won the title from Hank the wrestling shark!

Charlie the Cannibal Green Pepper

Written By: Gerry Paul & Noelie McDonnell

Charlie the Cannibal Green Pepper

On a cold winters night
When the lights went out
The children were sleeping
There’s nobody about

The full moon shone bright
And a lone wolf howled
Through the chill of the night
Came the hoot of an owl

And in Farmer Joe’s Kitchen
The night came alive
The mice went a running
And for cover they dived

And in the kitchen
There was a great roar
As a cannibal green pepper
Jumped to the floor

The leaks were still sleeping
As he took his first bite
And he sunk in his fangs
With all of his might

He ate in a frenzy
A veggie disaster
And as he munched on
He ate faster and faster

Now the cannibal green pepper
Spied a half empty sack
Where Ollie the onion
Hid with his brother Jack

He devoured them both
From where they were peeping
As their skin hit the ground
The Carrots were weeping

The tomatoes were next
On the Green Pepper’s list
He ran at them full throttle
Waving his fist

He skinned them alive
Ignoring their crying
Their pulp covered the ground
As they lay there dying

Charlie was still hungry
but where would he start
The blood of a beetroot
Or an artichoke’s heart

As he swaggered around
With his bloated green belly
There was a counter attack
from an army of chilies

General Chipolte
An the Chilien Army
On the back of the mice
Came swiftly and calmly

They were firing their toothpicks
From some miniature bows
Trying to kill the green pepper
But they hadn’t a hope

Cause Charlie was a warrior
He made the mice run
And the chilies were swallowed
Every last one

There steam was still gushing
From Charlie’s green ears
As footsteps were heard
Descending the stairs

And Into the kitchen
Came Farmer Joe
For his late night snack
And a cup of cocoa

For a vegetable treat
He opened the press
And before his eyes
Was a terrible mess

The remains of the carrots
and onions and leaks
All mushed up together
with the chilies and beets

And one lone survivor
Remained on the shelf
It was Charlie the cannibal
Green pepper himself

Farmer Joe took Charlie
And chopped in slices
Threw him into the pan
With some eggs and some spices

And then on the top
He threw parmesan Cheese
And swallowed it down
With great pleasure and ease

So here’s what this
Terrible story has told
Even a cannibal green pepper
So strong and so bold

One that has conquered
And killed as he rambled
Could end up one day
Being sautéed and scrambled

The Terrible Land Where All Bullies Go

Written By: Gerry Paul

The Terrible Land Where All Bullies Go!

Hey all you bullies
Who pick on nice boys and girls
If you keep it up
You’ll be sent to a world
Where all bullies go
For the mean things they’ve done
And they don’t get chocolate
And there’s no bubble gum

There is no ice cream
Or puppies or kittens
And the sun doesn’t shine
When it’s cold there’s no mittens
And there are thousands of rats
As big as dogs
And Alligators
And wild hogs

They eat straw for their breakfast
And grass for their lunch
And if you are sent there
You’ll regret at once
All the times you called names
Or pushed kids around
Or tripped people up
So they fell on the ground

So next time you feel like
Hurting someone
Or calling a name
Or kicking a bum
Make sure you think twice
‘Cause this you should know
There’s a terrible land
Where all bullies go

And if a big bad bully
Tries to make fun of you
Hold your head high
Ignore the things that they do
‘Cause there is a place
Of which they don’t know
And it’s a terrible land - Where all bullies go!

Workin' On The Worm Farm

Written By: Gerry Paul

WORKIN' ON THE WORM FARM

Down on the worm farm
Working in the dirt
Pushing up the daisies
And replenishing the earth

Chewin’ through your tea bags
And your apple peels
Wriggling through your waste
Like a swarm of eels

CH:

I got no legs
I got no arms
And I spend all my days
Working on the worm farm

We’ll eat the leaves of a cabbage
Or a corn on the cob
An old egg carton
We just put ‘em in our gob

Then we digest them
Leave an earthly waste
Put it in your garden
For a full organic taste

CH:

We help grow your roses
The vegetables you sew
Give us your old food
And watch your garden grow

Then we’ll convert them
And do what we do best
Just throw it on the compost
And let us do the rest

CH:

We got red wigglers
Earth worms too
African night crawlers
We’re a real worm zoo

And please spread the word
So everybody knows
Don’t give us your waste
If it doesn’t decompose
