BIOGRAPHY
Gertrudis is one of the most popular bands of rumba-flamenco mixed with reggae, cumbia and eastern rhythms. This cocktail creates its unique Rumba power style!
Ten years playing, 5 albums and more than 600 concerts endorse the band, which has revolutionized the Catalan rumba and by extension the Catalan and national music scene.
They have played in important festivals like: Popckom (Germany), Mercat Música Viva (Vic), BAM (Barcelona), Affrocaribbean Festival (Beglium), Les Mediterranneenes (France), Kilometroak (Euskadi), La Gira (Valencia), Mediatic Festival (Alicante), La Noche en Blanco (Madrid)....
In May 2010, they conducted its first tour in India, acting in Kerala region. In July 2008, they did their first tour in Canada, where they had a successful exit among the public and specialized critics. Moreover, the Fooball Club Barcelona (Barça), ordered them a rumba cover of the Barça anthem.
They have shared stage with artists like: Nofx, The Wailers, Chris Clark, Kiko Veneno, La Cabra mecáncia, Delincuentes, Gipsy Kings, Los Manolos...
During its concert number 500 they recorded a live album and a documentary film: 500 (Global Music, 2009). This gig featured the collaborations of Lichis, the singer of La Cabra Mecánica, Iñaki of Betagarri, Los Manolos, Pablo Mora of Lagarto Amarillo, Sabor de Gracia, Gerard Quintana and others.
