"NME Radar"

Get Inuit have been kicking about the scene for 12 months or so now, but 'Cutie Pie, I'm Bloated' is their first official release - it's a prime slice of power-pop riffing delivered with fizz and energy to spare. Keep 'em coming, we say. - The NME

"DIY Magazine Neu Music"

Not everybody’s going to fall in love with Get Inuit’s cutesy punk, but those that do will obsess over it posters on the bedroom wall, insane Instagram accounts-style. This won’t just be fandom, it’ll be all-out madness. ‘Cutie Pie, I’m Bloated’ (what a title, by the way) is a kicking and screaming introduction to the Kent four-piece. - DIY Magazine

"5 Overseas DIY Bands to Watch, Vol. V – Hospital, Get Inuit,"

Get Inuit is a newly emerging surf/grunge rock band from Kent, England who recently had a Record of the Week on the BBC radio program, BBC Introducing, for the single, “Cutie Pie, I’m Bloated.” The band specifically referred to their music as, verbatim, “surf/grunge/indie/retro/pop.” And it’s true (they forgot rock and elements of punk). However, it would not work in a sentence. For example: “Next, Get Intuit is a surf grunge indie rock retro pop punk band from the United Kingdom.” Nonetheless, the results are what matter, and Get Inuit achieves what they set out to do with a mix of genres and 60s pop and rock aesthetics and songwriting with grunge guitar tones and sing-a-long choruses.

The band was literally formed in July and popped out these two tracks, including the B-side to “Cutie Pie, I’m Bloated,” a catchy rocker called “My Oh My.” You can listen to the full album, Cutie Pie, I’m Bloated, via the band’s Bandcamp page. On their Soundcloud page the band wrote: “We make dirty, surf inspired pop music and we come from Kent. None of us can actually surf.” The band’s top musical influences are Weezer, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Yuck, and Bleeding Knees Club. Will this new UK band break out big? It’s always hard to say from the get-go, but they’re off to a pretty good start. - INDIE ROCK CAFE

"10 Awesome Albums Or EPs You Might've Missed In February"

Get Inuit - '001' EP The Kent band show off their anthemic capabilities and fondness for intriguing song titles on their debut EP. 'Dress Of Bubblewrap' and 'Coping With Death In A Nutshel' shroud meaty riffs and huge hooks. - NME

"The Shortlisten: Get Inuit"

What’s the story? First things first, what a great name. Well done on that lads. But onto the music and - pleasingly - it's also great. Get Inuit are a four-piece from Kent, this is the lead track from their second EP, Luge Lessons, and it's a glorious slice of retro-but-fun grungy pop. Singer Jamie Glass has a distinctive voice which throws you at first, before you realise it fits the backing sonics really rather well. Like early Foo Fighters, with a dash of Weezer and early Ash, aided by a primary colour video, it's pretty much impossible not to enjoy this one.

Bio

From the sunny streets of the South East of England, Get Inuit play dirty indie guitar pop. The band spent 2014 fine-tuning their fuzzed-out live show in support of such heavyweights as Slaves, PUP and DZ Deathrays, though never losing sight of the earworm pop sensibility they hold so dear.

The band self produce, and record and mix all their output including making their own music videos and artwork from their own recording studio in Kent.

Named as one of XFM's Great X-Pectations for 2015, the debut EP '001' was released in February of 2015 on Alcopop Records, and single 'Mean Heart' shortly followed in May, gaining radio play across the board from Huw Stephens and Annie Mac to Greg James and an XFM playlisting.

The band was formed in 2013 when Jamie Glass decided that he had some songs to write. Aided by Rob Simpson and Oliver Nunn, the band started writing and soon after James, Rob's brother, joined the band.

Expect new music before the year is out and a debut album in 2016.
