Bio
Get Off The Floor Einstein is a progressive, funk-fusion trio based out of Port St. Lucie, Florida. G.O.T.F.E. started out as an impromptu jam session between long time friends and collaborators Brett DeCosimo and Matt Yampolsky and Brett’s brother Brandon DeCosimo. Ranging from ambient, melodic grooves to more straightforward funk rock, these jam sessions quickly became nightly occurrences. Evan Walker was recruited to play bass and the band quickly built a small following in their hometown of P.S.L. in the summer of 2006. In early 2007, Brandon and Brett left G.O.T.F.E. to pursue other projects. Tristan Harvey then agreed to play guitar, however, this was a short-lived lineup with Brett returning to the band and Tristan leaving to pursue other projects after just one show. G.O.T.F.E. played venues up and down the treasure coast until disbanding in late 2007 due to personal differences. In early 2009, Brett and Matt decided to contact long-time friend and collaborator Brendan Seaboyer and start G.O.T.F.E. from scratch. The song writing process came naturally to the trio having played together in numerous projects over the course of their eight year friendship. This new version of Get Off The Floor Einstein debuted on stage to a packed house on April 18 and has been playing the east coast of Florida ever since. Get Off The Floor Einstein continues to perpetually grow as a musical entity and longs to stimulate all minds involved.
