Get Closer is Geva Alon’s third solo album and his first European release.
His first two albums (Days of Hunger & The Wall of Sound) introduced us to his gorgeous country flavored Americana sound with his now familiar trademark virtuoso guitar playing and beautiful ethereal voice & harmonies.
Produced by Thom Monahan (Devendra Banhart, Vetiver, Pernice Brothers) Get Closer was written after a ten month tour in the United States that culminated in Sept '08 with Geva’s performance at the Fillmore West in San Francisco in support of the legendary Paul Weller.
Three songs from Get Closer, 'The Wind Whispers', 'I Can See the Stars' and 'Come Race Me' rocketed into the Israeli radio charts remaining there for several weeks. The album peaked at #1 on the Israel sales charts – topping releases by Muse and Pearl Jam that same week.
Full of beautiful, rural country rock, Get Closer recalls the classic rock grooves of Neil Young & Creedence Clearwater Revival and the beautiful harmonies of The Band & CSN&Y.
