Bio

What would you do in front of a singer-songwriter-multi-instrumentalist-producer-label manager (Somekind Records) who’s claiming he’s found the new sound of pop music ?
Well, you can laugh, because we all know what this kind of person really is, nothing more than some pretentious twat ! Especially when his music is based on recipes heard a thousand times before, so how dare he qualify his music as the “new sound of pop” ?

The question is: Should pop music dinosaurs be impressed by the music of Sir Geyster (pronounce guy-ster) ? Well, one thing’s for sure is that pop music is glorified through his music !
Because what this dude does with his songs and productions is a pure celebration of pop music noblest ingredient: the melody !
Geyster Land, a land where the songwriting is the Queen and production is the King !

Everything started back in school, when Gaël Benyamin would play his guitar, singing The Beatles while hitting on girls. Then Gaël discovered the richness of jazz harmony, before he left Paris his hometown to go off to sunny California, heading the Musicians Institute, famous music school in Hollywood where he met Pernilla Grönlund, a sexy blonde Swedish singer: Geyster was born !

Back in Paris in 2003, the project seduced Joachim Garraud, successful producer (David Guetta, Jean Michel Jarre…), with whom Gaël produced the surprising first album of Geyster “I Love 1984” released in 2004 (Virgin/Emi), including the hit single “Bye Bye Superman” which stormed the European radio waves during summer 2003…

Today, Geyster is back with « Everytime I See Your Face » a brand new studio album including the hit “Under The Fuse Of Love” whose music video was featured on almost every national UK TV music channels since September 2006 ! A new album definitely turned towards Pop Music, where Gaël & Pernilla’s voices surf on an ultra-modern top-notch production, flirting with simple and efficient melodies, rich chords, beautiful harmonies and sophisticated arrangements. A sweet candy wrapped up in a cheesy 70’s disco flavour with a touch of 80’s chic dandy elegance blended with a dark nostalgic jazz feel, scary at times, but always soothing, welcome to Geyster Land…
