"I can guarantee that you haven't heard a voice quite like that of Austin,
Texas native gfire. One part Bjork, one part Sandy Denny and one part, the
aforementioned Kate Bush. With fiddle. It's certainly an arresting sound,
and when allied to one of the better songs, it's a sound that stays with you."

"gfire's latest release, 'triangle,' is captivating. It's loaded with opulent tracks that truly wow me. What's my favorite track? Well I like quite a few but what grabs me the most is the last song, 'less is more' remixed."
Madalyn Sklar, GoGirlsMusic.com
"I got your cd a couple of days ago and I wanna thank you deeply! I enjoyed the songs and the first thing that came in mind listening to some of them is the amazing folk and psychedelia mix of many Californian artists of the sixties like It's A Beautiful Day and the early Jefferson Airplane.
Anyway the cd is very appealing and well produced.
Thanks a lot for your consideration!"
Remo Ricaldone
Susa Onda Radio, Italy
"Greetings - thanks a ton for 'triangle' - my DJs love it - I got hooked because I really like Malford Milligan's work with STORYVILLE so I figured if you are cool enough to land his voice,
then the CD has to work...and it does!
Thanks again"
Ken Raisanen, Manager WOAS-FM Ontonagon, MI, USA
"gfire’s music is interesting.
The influences she brings to the songwriting process, create some different configurations of musical architecture.
Take for instance, the bass drum sound in 'i wouldn’t stop.' You just don’t hear that type of sound in a typical singer/songwriter CD. Touches like these are needed in music. It’s also refreshing to hear a piano-infused set of songs come out of her current geographical locus, Austin. Her vocal and piano technique, yikes, it’s great to hear someone sing in great tune. My fave track is the remix of 'less is more' at the end of the CD. This points to more great things she will be doing. Her pedigree in dance music, mixed with her expression as a singer/songwriter, or songer/singwriter, creates great musical interest. It’s nice to hear new things."

Bio
It's possible that you've never heard of Austin-based gfire, but that's not a state of affairs that's likely to last much longer. From Australia to Connecticut, from Canada to the Netherlands, gfire's music is in worldwide rotation. DJs across the globe are spinning "triangle" and setting the airwaves ablaze with her infusion and unique branding of Americana and Electronica.
The key to gfire's heady allure may be her voice: ethereal without being wispy, passionate (but not enough to leave marks), and brazenly self-assured--some say it is the best three-and-one-half octave voice in Texas. Her inspiration is Kate Bush. In fall 2007 gfire flew to London and passed her final singing exam with the well respected Ernest George White Society, a society of professionally trained musicians with forward thinking on how the artist can tap into one's voice using the sinuses to maximize one's vocal creative possibilities. gfire has capitalized on this and is a big believer in breathing techniques through yoga and singing to bring one's art to new heights--"triangle" is a beautiful example of this.
"triangle" was produced by gfire, engineered by Stuart Sullivan (who earned gold records with Butthole Surfers, Sublime, Willie Nelson), and features an ensemble cast of guest musicians including Small Faces' Ian McLagan and Storyville's Malford Milligan.
