Bangor - A New England School of Communications student is on his way to stardom, recently ranked alongside chart-topping rap artists Drake and Chris Brown.
But he says talent isn't enough and that success requires dedication and teamwork, too.
Ellis Davis, or G-Fresh, is not your typical NESCOM student.
With help from friends and a UK producer, this college sophomore and Augusta native is well on his way to pursuing a dream.
His single "Spotlight," posted on YouTube last month, already has more than 41,000 views.
And last week, his mixtape, "Music Over Everything," appeared on DatPiff.com which is a well-known website in the rap and hip-hop community.
It was listed as a "Top Eight of the Day," alongside new releases from Drake and Chris Brown.
With wide reaching promotion efforts, production resumes in a tiny dorm room.
