"Review - House of Blues March 2007"

"Over the hustle and bustle of the House of Blues, on March 15, 2007 at the HOB concert event "Unplugged" over all of the "hooplas" and "yahoos" of the drunken crowd [yet still an all age's show] you could still hear the acoustic sounds that make the group Buzzuka Joe and the Dubble G Three.

With both Buzzuka Joe and Carlos Guerro originally from Connecticut and Glenn Geller (Dubble G), a Las Vegas native, the three came together as a new band on the music scene formed early 2007 performing as a trio of young men at February's First Friday event, and officially as "Buzzuka Joe and the Dubble G Three" the following First Friday of March. "It's such a great feeling to be with these incredibly talented musicians on the same stage and to feel the reaction from the crowd as we play... small venues to large" said Geller. "We are most at home and loose at Matteo's, there is a palpable energy in the air when we play there. The box office is also tops on my list" says Carlos. The band plays small venues like the Box Office located in downtown Las Vegas or Matteo's Underground Lounge in Boulder City, as well as larger venues like the House of Blues. "It feels good to play everywhere really. House of Blues is definitely very exciting from a famous place standpoint. It feels good to have been together for only 3 months and still be asked to play a venue like that. Matteo's and First Friday are great fun too though because we're playing shows put on by us and our friends. At Matteo's there's a lot more spontaneity. We play for as long as we want and sometimes impromptu jam sessions with other musicians happen" said Joe.

With songs like "Gotta Get Out" which to Joe "describes the way I felt about Connecticut and my whole life at the time, so it's close to me" and "90 Days" a song that, "we never play…the same way twice so it always feels exciting and new" said Joe, "90 Days was written about love, found and lost, and the empty feeling you get when your loved one needs a bit of rehab..." describes Geller. Joe and Geller sing the songs they write; Guerrero provides back up vocals and switches from guitar to one of the two djembes [pronounced "jembay"] providing the perfect sound "because we can get good bass drum and snare drum sounds out of them" says Joe. As for Guerrero his favorite song is "Painkiller # 2" although it's not exactly for the younger audience, "after you hear it one time you'll have it running through your head for a week" illustrates Guerrero The other two also switch from singing to instruments. Not only do they switch from voice to strings, the occasional game of musical stools [not chairs] occurs.

The raspy voice of Joe plus the amazing solos keep the crowd intent; while the "naturally soulful, gentle, and soothing" as described by Guerrero, voice of Geller keeps you in a daze. With Guerrero keeping the beat alive, the three provide enough entertainment to turn any blue frown upside down with, "a blend of anything we've heard, seen or felt and been influenced by." To hear for yourself, be sure to go to First Friday April 6, 2007 or check them out in May at the House of Blues." - Cecilia Gomez / Las Vegas Reporter - Las Vegas Reporter / Cecilia Gomez

Bio

Buzzuka Joe and The Dubble G Three are a rising Las Vegas, Nevada based musical group performing acoustic style music with three part harmonies, incredible guitar work, and a danceable beat. A short list of groups we have been compared to are Guster, DMB, America, the Gypsy Kings... In fact, we have also heard "You guys sound like a modern day Crosby Stills and Nash".

We say.. whatever works!! We enjoy writing and performing our original works, and are committed to doing so on a regular basis.

Buzzuka Joe, Glenn "Dubble G" Geller, and Carlos Guerrero met recently, played together, and suddenly magic was happening before our eyes. We realized quickly that we had developed a unique, yet irresistable sound that could be enjoyed by fans both young and old.

In doing so, we were determined to produce a record that our fans could listen to over and over, and after 100 plus studio hours, we recently completed our Debut Album and it is in stores now!!! Also check out myspace.com/gg3music for more info or to get the new CD!!!

With a great deal of support in Las Vegas, Buzzuka Joe and The Dubble G Three are already in talks with several representatives of Major Labels and Distribution Companies, and are poised to take the music scene by storm in the upcoming months.
