"The Forever Smile by Gatsby's Green Light"

With their impressive debut album, The Forever Smile, Gatsby’s Green Light has created much more than a great album; they have created a sense of hope, inspiration and community with their positive outlook that mixed with their excellent music could start a revolution! ” Reviewed by: Justin Kreitzer – Rating: 4 out 5 stars - Justin Kreitzer

"The Forever Smile"

“Following on the heels of Annalee earlier in 2013, The Forever Smile is well-played and crafted; chock full of head-bob inducing riffage and craftsman-style tune-smithing. And with an ingrained social ethic to boot, Gatsby’s Green Light is bound to play well to the Dancing Bear/Phish-sticker sporting crowd in all their variegated manifestations. Though to simply write this one off as yet another jam band that is long on ability and short on creative vision would be to sell it a bit short, despite the persistent stereotypes out there backed up with a tangible amount of real world empirical evidence. The Forever Smile is, at center, a really listenable and enjoyable record pressed by a group of accomplished musicians who know what they’re up to, and the result is both a good listen and, should you choose to hear it, a call to arms.” Reed Burnam – Rating: 4 Stars (out of 5) - Reed Burhnam

"Ken Coulson and Gatsby’s Green Light debut is eclectically beautiful and overall very enjoyable"

"Ken Coulson and Gatsby’s Green Light debut is eclectically beautiful and overall very enjoyable. So few artists are able to integrate world music, Latin, and other elements into their compositions and avoid the pretension that often can accompany the effort. Coulson seems completely comfortable within the many genres and influences contained on the record. "

"Get ready to listen to your new favorite record"

"“America I See You,” is an ode to our great country, and could make its place in history as a new anthem. Ken Coulson is certainly a name to watch out for in 2012. With Gatsby’s Green Light Coulson is on the rise to becoming a household name. Get ready to listen to your new favorite record…he’s worth the listen. "1st Violinist from Phantom comments on Ken's writing"

" Years from now, someone will dig up Ken Coulson's words and know that he had a lot of things figured out "

Gatsby's Green Light is a positivity party that is equal parts Grateful Dead and Dave Matthews Band.

The band released their full length LP, The Forever Smile, in late 2013 to rave reviews:

"With their impressive debut album, The Forever Smile, Gatsbys Green Light has created much more than a great album; they have created a sense of hope, inspiration and community with their positive outlook that mixed with their excellent music could start a revolution! Gatsbys Green Light is a rhythmic juggernaut of diverse musical styles. With storytelling at its core, the band weaves a dynamic blend of jam, Americana and funk into a theatrical live show. Drum solos, guitar solos, space and noise collide to release a collective and actively positive feeling for the participant. After all, were all in the band. Join GGL on the road. Follow Happy.
The Forever Smile is the bands full-length release, available on ITunes and through the Gatsby Green Light store (www.gatsbygreenlight.com). On stage, the band is Hari Ganglberger on Drums, William Earley on Guitar, Lucas Gould on Bass and Ken Coulson on Vocal, Guitar and Electric Banjo.
The Forever Smile is the second half of a musical storytelling project that began with Gatsby's Green Lights', Annalee (1/13). If Pink Floyd's 'The Wall' was depicting the struggles of family and country in a bleak post war environment, The Forever Smile is a modern version of a chronicle on man's obsessive quest towards growth at the expense of future generations. It's the story of sustainability told on a diverse musical palette channeling great influences like Stevie Wonder, The Grateful Dead, Bela Fleck, Phish and of course, Pink Floyd. The Forever Smile brings us the messages of Hope, Awareness, Oneness & Vigilance necessary to craft a positive future.
Musically, Lucas Gould (Bass) once described the album as having 'every epic chord change' possible.
"It can certainly be looked at that way, says Ken Coulson, "But The Forever Smile also mixes diverse styles in a way that lends itself to the story. Getting pulled through by the consistency of the theme, which says we are taking a journey together. We hope the listener begins to see music in its purer form as opposed to being stylistically rooted in a particular genre."
We start in the land of Jam with the Catwalk of Life before dropping into a funky world with Greta Soul and by the third song were ushered through the doors of a big rock stadium. Juggo Vivo and Om Pram take us into the world of 6 and 3 respectively as our message of active positivism and loving the world comes through more clearly. Then its time for a neck brace with the deep funk of Brutis as we follow a central character on his journey from joy into madness. Duped by the ferocious tenacity of the Trivoric, our three heads of injustice. Then its off for a deep period of reflection as we try to imagine what it would be like to see green fields after a lifetime in a barren wasteland. That's Wondria, the last great bastion of the environment. The one we need to save. The banjo reappears in the hooting and hollering Rukus, which slides into the jazzy happy hangover of Remedy. Both celebrations of life and hope. Then were off to the races with the Latin infused guitar and percussion track, Apollonian. The message here speaks only to responsibility. We end paying homage to the Mother Earth once more with Kaya and the incendiary guitar solo designed to represent the time travel to the land of truth.
Come ride with Gatsby today.
