Bio
A young, independent, Irish music act, with an acclaimed debut e.p. and a number of appearances in national media (including winning the Hot Press First Cuts Clinic Competition 2008) under our feet. This past year has been a very productive time for the band - along with the premiere of their first music video, this summer also saw highlights including the position of special guest support act for the internationally recognised Frank & Walters in the world famous Speigletent in late June, during the Cork Midsummer's Festival, along with further successful slots on the Waterford Spraoi Festival Plaza Stage, and Tramore's Kavfest (formally Tráfest) in August.
More recently, November saw the release of Ghetto's debut single, "Savio", available as a download purchase designed to gain hype for a soon to be released sophomore e.p.. Sales of the single going well, Savio the band claiming the 3rd best selling download for sometime on the host-site downloadmusic.ie, gaining national interest (see: http://hotpress.com/news/5968428.html). The success of the single saw a culmination in early December, with a headline slot in the Waterford's The Forum, a 750 person capacity venue, for the third birthday celebrations of "Traffik", the county's biggest Indie-club.
Though Waterfordian in origin, with three of the four members of Ghetto Amaretto and all this while keeping a level head and attending University. Ghetto Amaretto pride themselves on keeping a consistently rising level of quality attached to the name of the band - and looks for the promotions which do this mission justice.
