Bio
Ghost Icon grew out of numerous previous bands that I was involved in. Originally a drummer in a garage punk band and a stand in drummer for a folk band. The folk band realized I was a better drummer than guitarist so I joined as a guitarist. Guitarists were a dime a dozen in town so I picked up the bass at the request of a friend I had been in a few bands in as a drummer and guitarist. I then joined a successful local band called From Bullet To Child. We toured in Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico. We soon broke up due to internal conflict and band member relocation. I played drums and/or bass for a few bands after that and still do on occasion. I begin recording my own music with a borrowed four track under the name Subtle. Later on I acquired a free demo version of Acid and Soundforge and begin recording using these online programs. However, due to not having an interface, I recorded by capturing audio from my webcam. Due to the low quality I begin manipulating the audio to lessen the white noise effect. This project became known as Cyclamen. After a few years doing this project a few relatively well known artists showed interest and admiration. After a particularly difficult time in my life I begin singing, and recording songs with my vocals. I realized that I was actually talented as a singer as well. This project soon morphed into what is now Ghost Icon. The music of Ghost Icon is a blend of many genres and styles due to my eclectic taste and musical background. I have been compared to Low, Sigur Ros, Mark Kozelek, The Books, Radiohead, Bon Iver, Buckethead, Billy Mclaughlin, Aphex Twin, Fennesz, and Death Cab For Cutie.
