GHOST RIDERS: FORTUNE TELLER

Recently I have had the honor to feel the musical
power of Ghost Riders. Their debut album Fortune
Teller is a kaleidescope of sound, from the super
touching and heart-felt "I Want The Blues Tonight" to
the cleverly written "Handy Man", which is packed full
of sexual innuendos and a great blues vibe. For a more
country feel check out "Gone South", There Goes
Another Love Song", "Track 12(100 Proof)", or
"G.R.I.T.S.", an amazingly written song, a great play
on words with a beat to keep you moving. "Fortune
Teller" and "Whiskey Drinking Woman" have a southern
rock grove that never loses your interest. "Shotgun
Run" and "Ballad Of The Ghost Rider" have a darker
more mysterious sound all very pleasing to your
senses. "Song For The Angels" is a very powerful
instrumental. This CD contains many wonderful songs
and sounds from country, to southern rock and even
blues, and to my surprise a song that will remain
among my very favorites "I Want The Blues Tonight", a
beautifully written and arranged song. Ghost Riders,
Fortune Teller has firmly planted it's "Roots" among
my must haves!!

"Michael Buffalo Smith "GRITZ MAGAZINE""

"Fortune Teller"
I am elated to announce to you fine folks, Southern rock is alive and well and one of the primary reasons for this is the new band Ghost Riders. Ghost Riders is made up of Steve Grisham (The Outlaws), Barry Rapp (Henry Paul Band), Jimmy Bennett (Levon Helm Band), Pug Baker (Jimmy Spheris/The Knack) and Phil Stokes (Pure Prarie League), and the eleven-song debut album simply rocks. There are obviously comparisons to be made with The Outlaws, but by no means are Ghost Riders a copycat band. No way, bucko. The album kicks off with Bary Rapp's "Gone South," with amazing slide guitar, and it doesn't let up. Every song is a winner, especially "G.R.I.T.S." ("Girls Raised In The South"), a radio hit waiting to be discovered. But is doesn"t stop there, the band turns out some mighty sweet sounding Southern rock in "Ballad of a Ghost Rider," "Shotgun Run," and "Roots," and they show their versatility in churning out an outstanding blues tune, "I Want The Blues Tonight." As a special treat, there is a cover of "There Goes Another Love Song," with more of Grisham"s smoking guitar work. "Fortune Teller" is without a doubt one of the very best Southern rock albums of the year.

"Roots Music Report"

Well radio DJ’s if you don’t think this band is hot, you need to pack up your headphones and get out of the music business. The Ghost Riders produce some of the finest southern roots rock and roll to arrive at radio stations in quite sometime. Fortune Teller is simply superb. Every cut is in the groove and the mix is excellent. Hang on for a terrific ride and hear why the Ghost Riders are leaving several other rock groups in the dust. Don't take our word for it, just listen to the album and let the music speak for itself. - Roots Music Report
