Ghost Town Waltz is the brainchild of Portland, Oregon resident Joshua Parrott. Having left a power-pop band and most of his twenty’s in Seattle, Parrott moved to Portland and started to write the kind of solo material he wanted to hear. Taking his cue from Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, Nick Cave, Damien Jurado, and other lapsed Catholics, Parrott started to explore the darker subject matter that has infused popular music ever since the Irish discovered whiskey and Robert Johnson strapped on a guitar. Ghost Town Waltz’s music tells the stories of serial killers,lovers, murderers, petty thieves, the brokenhearted, and of those with no heart to begin with.
