Bio
Ghostwire is a rock band based in Manchester, NH. Their sound could best be described as indie rock that walks the fine line between pop appeal and a hard rock delivery. Their sound is at once recognizable yet unique, drawing from a wide variety of influences and focusing them through the lens of post-punk and new wave.
Nik (vocals, guitar) and Sean (bass, vocals) met in the winter of 2008 and formed a band called Proxy Wars, but after 2 years, the group disbanded due to personnel issues. The duo then had the good fortune to meet Stephen (drums), formerly of Chewy, who fit with the new vision of a 3-piece lineup.
Following an intense audition period, the three musicians agreed that they'd discovered a special chemistry and set about crafting the songs that form the basis of their live set. Ghostwire's sound took the jangly, pop sound of Proxy Wars and injected it with a dose of Chewy's harder, punky, rock-based feel. The result is music that manages to be at once ambient yet intense, intelligent yet danceable, though-provoking yet undeniably rock 'n' roll.
Currently, Ghostwire is finishing off their first batch of original material and is playing live shows in the New England area. In late June and early July, the band commenced work on a six-track recording which they may independently release as an EP, so please check back frequently for the latest details and to check upcoming concert dates.
