"Ghouliez"

Blending strobe-lit, early 90s synths with glitchy strippercore dance pop, the music of Tempe's Ghouliez reexamines the glittery darkness of electroclash from a new perspective. At first listen Ghouliez resembles the lovechild of early Adult (band) and an easy-going, post-lobotomy Venetian Snares (band). But there's more than just glitch and restlessness... They make use of robotic vocals -- which at moments sound terrified and lethargic -- as well as repetitive but never redundant, hardhitting, computer-assisted beats.

If strobe lights or dance floors had tongues enough to talk they would speak with the same medical equipment beep droll and Atari blips and bleeps as the seven minute song, "Drown'n N Bits": the melody haunts
the speakers with the eeriness of Angelo Badalamenti had he foregone scoring Lynch films and instead become an LSD-crazed German DJ in the golden age of techno. The crowdpleaser, "Hex On Your Deks," embodies Dead or Alive's "You Spin Me Round" with a splash of Digitalism (band).

Whether instrumental or vocal, Ghouliez refuse to be pigeonholed into a single genre. In addition to feelings of fear and thoughtfulness they at once invoke arm pumping and groin thrusts. Ghouliez reinvents dance music upon a fresh foundation. By combining early electro remembrances with contemporary popular trends Ghouliez is sure to please even the snobbiest electroclash fans. If you plan to attend one of the many upcoming shows, be prepared to smash something as the music overtakes your cerebral cortex and leaves you a slave to the beat. - Yab Yum Music

"Introducing:Ghouliez"

Introducing electro act Ghouliez of Phoenix, Arizona. The boys are gaining a lot of momentum over the past few months with original songs and remixes of Junior Boys and Crystal Castles.

We play a hybrid set between live with synths/sequencers/samplers/laptops and DJ'ing Ghouliez Remixz N' mashups. We're a lot like those little demon-monkeys from that movie "The Gate", except in addition to chewing human flesh/suburban-poltergeist-posession exploits, we also love to make people dance and party!! Get down with the Ghouliez!

"Ghouliez"

Hitting with heavy synths and thrashing hard, Arizona duo Ghouliez have started to make some waves on the electro scene with their stellar, long-form original work and remixes. Thankfully, they avoid the overly distorted sounds that ruin so many remixes these days, and take the smoother route. Definitely a group to keep an eye on and shake your ass to. - Diagonal limes

"Ghouliez-"Bits And Blood""

Sometimes, nothing really matters in music except for how fun it really sounds like it was to make or is to play. With this group from Arizona (it's in the water we tell you) Ghouliez, it's easy as pie to understand what we mean. The guys just slay in terms of bedroom production, mashing thrashy electro with slippery technologic notes, creating a warping, wiling out and full of adrenaline set of digitally compressing, mostly instrumental tracks. There's a ton of highs and ticks and Ghouliez just seem to know how to make beats that infect, infest and take over. - The Culture Of me

Bio

Ghouliez is the brain-child of D. Turner and M. Warden. It began in early 2007 in a graffiti-ridden bathroom in Glendale, AZ and ended in 2091 C.E. (2010 C.E. Parallel-dimension-time-coding). The music of Ghouliez centered heavily around alt.-universe and future time algorithms, i.e. robot-rebellions, nanobot influenza, post-humanism, etc…

Ghouliez played a number of live performances and dj sets throughout 2008-2010, and remixed a number of artists including Crystal Castles, A Beautiful Lotus, Halloween Swim-team, and many more. The musical aesthetic of Ghouliez is a swirling embodiment of chilling-synth atmospheres, robot-step dance-rhythms, and pd-based/8-bit sound engine drones. Wild-dogs and glitchy-ghosts of cybernetic-junkyards.
