Gi Major

Gi Major is a cross-genre, alternative hip-hop artist hailing from the North Shore of Massachusetts but currently stationed in Brooklyn.   As a child, Gi’s parents introduced her to a diverse collection of artists; most notably the soulful sounds of Toni Braxton, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Anita Baker and Luther Vandross.  However as she grew older it became apparent that Gi was drawn to any, and every genre of music as long as it contained one vital element, authenticity.   At the age of nine, Gi received what she considers one of the most influential catalysts to her own artistry, “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.” 

Self-defined as an “80’s baby, on her 90’s grind,” Gi is known to stay true to her roots, while maintaining the ability to adapt and develop with the times.  With a forever growing musical library consisting of genres such as Hip-Hop, R&B, Deep Bass, 
Electronica, Neo-Soul, Trip-Hop, Funk, Experimental, etc... It can be hard to pinpoint exactly where Gi’s inspiration comes from.
