Bio

Giavanni is the definitive soul singer songwriter to emerge in previous years, and he is in good company. Over the decades, precious few soul singers have touched the hearts of their community and the fan base around them. From Sam Cooke to Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding, and Stevie Wonder - Giavanni possesses the same innate quality of telling the truth through song and a voice that demands your attention just like his predecessors. His pain becomes your pain. His joy is your joy, and his struggle he makes you feel with a voice as powerful as a hurricane, and lyrics as vivid as a novel. This 22 year old is ready to take his music to next level.

With his first single getting ready to surface, “Circles” (a love story between two strong willed individuals) has already snatched the attention of his city. This single follows the heartfelt street single “Keep Pushing” (a vulnerable contemporary piece about the struggles regular people face day to day).

All of the songs for his debut album “Writing My Tomorrow” were written by Giavanni with production from Peripheral Audio.

Born in 1989 Chicago, Illinois but a Virginia native Giavanni didn’t have it easy. “For me it seemed waking up in the morning wasn’t only a gift but a curse or at least at the time that’s what I thought,” Giavanni told one reporter. Giavanni’s Grandparents played a major role in molding him into a man after his mother who was an addict at the time could no longer take care of him. “I can reminisce on my childhood now and kind of laugh on it, but at the time I was a witness to some disturbing and disarranged scenes,” says the singer songwriter. Having lost his father at the age of 12 the singer didn’t have much to look forward to. “I started writing shortly after my father passed it wasn’t so much that I felt I had to express myself; it was more I had no one to talk to because my dad was like one of the homeboys so I felt alone. So, my poetry became my best friend you know how babies have their favorite blanket or teddy bear that’s what my notebook is to me (giggle),” says Giavanni. Ten plus years later, he is still trying to put all of the pieces of the puzzle we call life together –mending the relationship with his mother who has been clean for more than ten years. “I never imagined that my mother and I would have such a close relationship especially after all that we put each other through, but that’s my heart right there. That’s why I have to win because watching a single mother work double over time week after week just to TRY and make ends meet ain’t no joke I put that on everything,” says Giavanni.

From the Charleston Coliseum where he sang for American Idol to the Atlas Auditorium where he sang for The Steve Harvey Show. This soul crooner is now groomed and ready to put the passion and truth back into the music of today.
