NU-BIG-INNIN - Coming in March 2006

Nu-Big-Innin’ is the current album project GIFTED is working on. It is based on the scripture in Isaiah 43:19...Behold I am doing a new thing, now it shall spring forth…
Tracks like ‘DADA’, encourages us to praise God and get to know Him as Father (Dada). ‘Men to be Men’ challenges men to be who God created them to be.
‘Nu-Big-Innin’, ‘Who will address’ and ‘Crazy’ deal with the current state of Rap music and the effect it has on the young people. ‘Foundation’ calls us to get back to basics with God. ‘My Life’ and ‘2-live-2-Die’ is a look at how Gifted’s life has changed. ‘God’s got a plan’ declares that everyone is created for a purpose. This album will shake up this world like never before!!!

Bio

THE MAN
Gil Okyere-Yeboah, also known as G.I.F.T.E.D, which is an acronym for ‘Going In Faith to Educate Disciples’ (based on Matthew 28:19), has been involved in music for over 10 years. Inspired by the rise of Rap music within the UK, he became involved in a rap group, and later as a solo artist. Prior to the released of his debut record, something happened in a night club, on New Years eve 1992, which changed the course of his life for ever! During that time in his life, Gifted was heavily influenced by the teachings of the Nation of Islam, and had become very bitter and angry towards Christianity and the church. His encounter (with the Lord Jesus Christ) that night, brought about a drastic transformation in this young man’s life, and marked the beginning of an era in British Gospel music, which is still talked about to this day.

THE MINISTRY
He became a member of the New Testament Church of God, and has been there for 7 years, working with the youth, teaching new converts, and serving the last 2 years in a leadership role as a part of the Pastor’s council.
During these years, Gifted used the platform of Rap music to ‘shine light in dark areas’ around the nation, working with churches from various denominations, schools, universities, prisons, and night clubs.
Gifted has a heart for the young people, especially the men. He recently spent 18 months with a group of young male offenders in prison, using music as a tool to build self-esteem and purpose.
This project was funded by the Prince Charles Trust. It was broadcasted on national TV, and received an award for the ‘Best factual programme of the year’.

THE MUSIC
Gifted’s transformation, and commitment to fulfilling the great commission, has encouraged a growing number of young people to use their musical talents to Spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
He is the recipient of the LGMA Gospel award, the DMI Gospel Award, 2 Oasis Awards, and was recently rated as one of the Best Rappers in the UK.
He was chosen to be the Contemporary music representative at the launch of the Christian TV network, God Channel Europe.
He has ministered alongside Richard Smallwood, Sounds of Blackness, to name a few.
Gifted has made 3 recordings of his own, the most recent being ‘Da Preview’, which received national radio coverage and mainstream reviews.
