"CMJ New Music Report"

"Closing the afternoon was Gigantic, a cheeky power-pop trio brimming with young talent... This exhuberant act, also hailing from Perth, left fans cheering for more. No surprises there though, as they were named "Most Promising New Band" at last year's WAMis, and more than lived up to that title"
- Lisa Hresko - CMJ New Music Report

Bio

GIGANTIC by name, GIGANTIC by sound!

Ironic really that with all the largeness associated with the group that the band is less a group by definition and more a duo.

Brothers Mark and Paul Di Renzo create passionate and articulate music that will drive you to be both a fighter and a lover. Armed with brilliant melodies, infectious harmonies, gutsy balls and all guitars, GIGANTIC have struck a chord with power pop lovers all around the globe!

The band have chalked up an impressive list of career highlights since 1999 that include:
- Releasing 3 EPs, 2 albums and 1 vinyl release internationally;
- Touring Australia, Europe, North American, Japan and New Zealand;
- Being playlisted on super cool Aussie radio NOVA and playing live for Triple J; and
- Being nominated as "Most Promising New Band" in Australia's WAMi awards.

GIGANTIC's Gigantaphonic Sounds album can do no wrong. Following a successsful Aussie release with radio, press and punters alike, Barcelona's prestigious Bip Bip Records made GIGANTIC their first Australian signing. San Francisco's Zip Records snapped up the album shortly thereafter and Spanish and US power pop fans have fallen in love with GIGANTIC's stylings. Japan aren't too far behind with a little help from Tokyo's Power Pop Academy.

2008 has been a massive year for GIGANTIC with the band touring the world twice! Renowned for their exciting live shows, the band wowed audiences in Australia, Japan, Europe and North America. The year's highlights included much talked about shows at the prestigious SWSW Festival in Austin, CMJ Music Marathon Festival in New York and POPKOMM Festival in Berlin. Get on board!
