"Press Quotes for Giggly Boys"

““Turned Out”, the EP’s opener, finds Giggly Boys channeling a hybrid of WU LYF’s indie-alternative and traditional post punk aesthetic–guitars are steeped in reverb and the vocals are barked...From the dissonant freak out of “Ghost Hole” to the Sonic Youth-channeling “Acid Fight”, Giggly Boys do a great job of paying homage to New York’s grittier, dirtier days, just with an updated perspective. If today’s Brooklynites are deemed “slackers,” then Giggly Boys’ . is a criticism and acceptance of that trope...” via Impose

“Full of grinding guitar scuzz, primitive drumming, and moody vocals, Giggly Boys' EP is abrasive yet alluring as 80s goth, post-punk, and Protomartyr-esque sounds circle around the lead singer's reckless stop-start barks. The EP as a whole is a grower, but "Sick Joke" is a scorcher that will immediately grab your ear.” via Groundfloorgo

“Their band reminds me of so many others that I admire; there’s plenty of Sonic Youth and some Stooges and something else uniquely weird and straight -forward, the way most excellent post-rock bands can be (WIRE, POLVO, you get it).” via TAHRC

“There is a bridled anger simmering away, drenched in monochrome and baked vitriol. It's burning into my synapses...It needs to be blasted on speakers though, pushed to its limits.” via Sonic Masala - Impose, Groundfloorgo, Sonic Masala
