Gilda Betancourt

Gilda is a decendent of the Dominincan Republic and currently resides in the greater Boston area. she developed her talent as a singer/songwriter at an early age in her room behind closed doors singing to every commercial on TV and Influenced by artist such as Mary J. Blige, Patty Austin, Rachel Ferrel, Aaliiyah, Sheryl Crow, to name a few. Gilda made her way into recording studios in Boston making a name for herself in the scene carving a place where she can hone her craft. she made her way into a cover band singing in smoky rooms with little pay, eventually leading to studio work, writing and recording. Writing her own songs became a routine and a way of life as she showcased her songwriting talent on a weekly basis in bands or solo shows. Eventually winning the USA Songwriting Competion for the song "Reality Check" and later on placing the song "Natural thing" in two motion pictures, "American Desi" and "American Violet", Gilda released her pop/alternative CD "Comfortably Confused". Simoultaneously writing, recording and releasing her Latin album featuring her hit single "Impossible", that got her nominated for the Latin category alongside artist Pitbull, in the Mp3 Music Awards in 2009. Adding to her talent Gilda does jingles in Portuguese, Italian and Spanish as well as backround vocal arrangements for her own songs and other artists. She's had the opportunity to work with the Basement Boys who represented Crystal Waters and Cutfather and Joe in Copenhagen, producers of the hit song "Return of the mac". She also sang in concert choir with Micheal Bolton, Reba McKintire and Celine Dion. She's traveled to Europe, St. Thomas, Hawaii, Miami to single handedly push her career.
