Heralded as a 'new face of comedy' by Sun Tv in 2009, this award winning comedian has racked up an impressive resume including Spike Tv's 'Spike Da Mic' competition winner at the prestigious world renowned Just For Laughs festival and a Canadian Comedy Award for funniest newcomer.

What many don't know is that from the beginning of his comedy career expectations have always been on his heels. Scouted by JFL festival only two years into his career around that time, Gilson also landed his first feature film audition through a stand-up routine taped at the Alt. Dot Comedy Lounge in Toronto.

After his recent appearance on HBO's Russell Simmons Def Comedy Jam hosted by one of the Kings Of Comedy, D.L Hugely, the former host/writer of MTV's Word From The Street segment has also ventured into production of live events including Buncha Bad Apples, No Strings Attached, the "Sugar And Hate" special for MTV based on one of his classic bits and as of late 'A Night Of Comedy' which is the new hit stand-up showcase in Canada's entertainment capital Toronto.

Not looking back since being encouraged by friends, the St.Lucian export to a swing at stand-up comedy in 2001 and has been a strong representation of his Caribbean roots. Other appearances include the Comedy Network and CTV's Comedy Now, CBC's Laugh Out Loud, Halifax Comedy Festival, Winnipeg Comedy Festival and Comedy Centrals Premium Blend.

Also a fan of comedy, Gilson's believes some of his biggest fortunes has been to sit down with another of his first comedian idols and trailblazers for black entertainers in America, Bill Cosby. The other was landing a spot to open for probably his biggest stand-up influences and comic genius Dave Chapelle thanks to recommendations from International success comedian Russell Peters and others.
