Gina Lococo

At a very young age, Gina Lococo knew she wanted to be a Recording Artist. Music was an integral part of her life. There was always music playing in her home and whenever she heard the strains of music, she would sing along. Gina knew the lyrics to all the popular songs even before she entered school. Her most favorite artist was Aretha Franklin. When she heard one of her songs, Gina would sing like a well-seasoned performer.

At the age of four, Gina began taking dance lessons. This would give her the opportunity to have all the attributes a good performer should possess. She truly enjoyed her many years of dance, with ballet becoming her most favorite.

Unfortunately, Gina’s young life was plagued with many trials and tribulations within her family – the long illness and eventual loss of her grandmother (whom she adored), her father’s diagnosis of cancer, her grandfather’s death, and then the most devastating of all her father’s death. Despite all this sadness, Gina’s music gave her the most strength and stability and she was able to meet each new day with hope.

After her father passed away, Gina was sure there was no possibility that she would ever be able to achieve her goal of becoming a Recording Artist. However, when she received the opportunity to attend the five-week session at the Berklee College of Music, she knew there was a chance to achieve her dream. She was given the reassurance she needed to know that her music was going to be the center of her life forever.

Since she arrived at the Berklee College of Music, Gina has had several opportunities to display her talents, such as the vocalist at weddings and a background singer, as well as, becoming a songwriter. She also has been able to record and perform her own written material.

Gina will graduate from the Berklee College of Music in Fall, 2006 with a Professional Music Degree and shortly thereafter she will hope to live out her life long dream.
